Hey all new guy to the forum, long time Elder scrolls player and way old h2 modder pc and xbox.

I've got a bit of an issue with my computer i'll post the specs below this but it has a decent (not great) graphics card and i can't get this dang thing to not run laggy as crap. When i boot up skyrim in low res it still has broken lighting (aka grid comes across screen) and runs really low on the fps (note i have no mods installed atm) so i was just wondering what settings i should use to make it run more smoothly (note if i have to go buy a better graphics card then i will no biggie.

I'm really not an expert at all (I had no idea how good my card is before I did a search on yours), but Google tells me that your card was "no good" in 2008... I found this graphics card hierarchy that puts your in the 20th tier, like 8 from the bottom, in 2010. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card,2521-8.html I'm sorry to tell you that, but I think that's a pretty serious problem.

Figures lol iv always had an outdated computer, but at least i can go buy a new graphics card and put it in myself, this computer was new about 3 years ago and it runs most other games (that run from disc anyway) fine but no biggie. Thanks for the feedback i honestly didn't even think to look where my graphics card stacked up

Tell you what, grab the sapphire ATI radeon hd 6570 2gb from ebuyer, its a cheap card at around

45 ish pounds and I can play skyrim at high/ultra, not sure how great it works with mods as I play

Vanilla, yes I'm that 1% it would seem lol, regardless I've had no problems with this card :)

The 3200 is onboard graphics... and pretty bad onboard graphics at that. It's sufficient for running Windows 7 Aero, but that's about it. Even in the 3000 generation, a 3850 is orders of magnitude better.

I run a 1GB 6850 Radeon, and have not had any issues even on Ultra with a number of texture packs loaded. It stays pegged at 60fps (apparently limited as it refuses to budge past that), except when there's the random lag that's probably due to scripting in some mods.
