CTD when Saving (Possibly Savefile corruption)

my game worked generally fine, suddenly I started getting this issue of crashes when near npcs. then it got to the point to where I can save anymore. I've done everything- disabling RSchildren, cleaning my save with fallrim, and none of it has worked. is there anyway of saving my current playthrough?

ATM I'm having the same problem of CTD when saving. I've also uninstalled mods, though I have quite a bit fewer than the Op, with limited success. I'll have a successful save in say, Windhelm, then fast travel to Whiterun and CTD upon trying to save without doing anything more than fast traveling.

How big is your Latest Save Game, to help Determine if its Save Bloat.

 

Sexlab mods are Notorious for Destroying Games, this goes all the way back to the oldrim days, Almost Every Post i have seen with Regards to Serious Game Issues such as Save Game Corruption always has at least 1 Sexlab mod mentioned in their load order. this is not a coincidence.

 

64Bit is Memory Management only, it does not Affect the Papyrus System at all, or the other Parts of the Engine, so as such aside from 64bit and a few visual tweaks, Skyrim SE is the Exact Same Game as Oldrim, which means it will share the same issues oldrim has. but this is largely masked by the fact of Improved memory management, which translates to better modding experience. as the main issue oldrim has is poor memory management, which translates in to a very unstable modding environment.

 

from what i gather, Sexlab Mods are Incredibly Script Heavy, and by being Script Heavy, means they have good chance of causing Save Bloat. Save Bloat is the number 1 cause for Save Game Corruption. to the point i am very confident that if you remove these mods, ignore their existence, and start again from scratch, you will probably never run in the same issue again.

 

the size of your save game will likely confirm that.

 

also recommend using spoiler tags for posts that are the length of a wall of text, people are generally not interested in huge walls of text, as such if they see a wall of text, they will most likely ignore it and move on, plus using spoiler tags is nice and clean post formatting, which will more likely spark interest in the post, and in turn you will more likely receive the response your are seeking.

ATM I'm having the same problem of CTD when saving. I've also uninstalled mods, though I have quite a bit fewer than the Op, with limited success. I'll have a successful save in say, Windhelm, then fast travel to Whiterun and CTD upon trying to save without doing anything more than fast traveling.

makes sure to let the game "catch up" before making a save.

 

When I've run into this, I find a nice quiet interior space (like breezhome in whiterun) and sleep for a few days, then save.

 

if that doesn't work, I open a save or two back from where things went wrong and redo, since something obviously went wrong during which ever save's gameplay that resulted in the situation in the first place.

@anjenthedog Thanks, I appreciate your the reply. I tried "resting" a couple days and that only helped on two occasions. After doing more research and stripping my characters profile down to the basics I finally had to scrap it and start a new one. Still don't know what corrupted the save files/mechanism. Anyway, thanks again for trying.
