anjenthedog
Ok, maybe a dumb question idk. but as the title says, I'm wondering how the high poly head will affect my current player. any info would be appreciated. PS> before you ask, the reason I'm interested in installing it is primarily due to the apparent trend to produce highpoly followers, racemenu presets etc. thanks in advance. Algabar
I haven't installed HPH for SE yet, but I had high poly heads back in Skyrim LE. Basically, high poly head meshes will take over your previous Racemenu or ECE settings. However, your character might look slightly different. You may have to tweak your character a bit after installing high poly heads. Regarding followers: Followers usually come with their own head meshes (which in some cases are based on high poly heads). Since it's a separate head mesh, these followers will "work" fine with or without high poly head meshes installed for player character and NPCs. . anjenthedog
Hi Algabar. That's exactly what I'm afraid of. Oh well... Thanks.
VulcanTourist
If you think it's possible that you will ever want to also consider Expressive Facegen Morphs SE, now would be the time to do both since you will already be on the hook for adjusting your player head anyway if you switch to High Poly Heads. Algabar
BTW, you can always test if you can live with the "new look" from high poly heads. It's just meshes. You can install and uninstall them at any time. If you want to be absolutely on the safe side, don't save your game with HPH installed as long as you're not sure if you want to keep the mod. Ah...Yes, I'll admit I was/am worried about a literal overwrite of my player meshes (ie a permanent modification to her structure) I'll consider what both of you wrote and maybe switch. I really do like the realism that the high-poly makes to faces, and "all" the newer followers and so forth seem to be using it, so if it's the new SOP, I'm going to have to consider it or become out of date. thanks to the both of you. VulcanTourist
I'm still debating its value "in my head"... is my head high-poly? There's going to be a performance hit for a higher density mesh and I'm already suffering too much framerate loss in outdoor areas. The visual difference to me isn't striking enough to warrant losing more. Then there's the redesigning that would almost certainly have to take place. For the same reason I'm reluctant to commit to EFM even though I'm not pleased with the limited expressions even with Expressive Facial Animations installed. AND especially the additional work. I've never touched a head before, aside from racemenu sliders. But I may end up taking my chances. 9600K 64G primary but only 6G vid... idk. we'll see. I'll still mulling the whole thing.
VulcanTourist
9600K 64G primary but only 6G vid 9600K CPU, 32GB DRAM, GTX 1070 8GB VRAM. Won't be rebuilding again for quite some time, in spite of me despising the cases I chose for us. Deleted10401735User
Hi all, just butting in, Im currently building a new playthrough and decided to use high-poly head this time around, but also decided to load a racemenu preset that uses high-poly head and edit from there, heres what im using, High Poly Head SE 1.3High Elf Preset Angel SEI can also recommend,Expressive Facial Animation - Female Edition-19181-1-4 and/orExpressive Facial Animation - Male Edition-19532-1-21Random Emotions SSE-v0.20a With higher Poly on the head it allows for more curve so the face looks less blocky which in turn allows for more details in exprecions, it looks really good. As for performance currently I have about 428 plugins and 720 mods installs, including patches, etc; my FPS in the world is about 60 to 80, in towns can drop to 40 to 60. My rig was very good when I 1st built it but after 5 years I have noticed some performance drop but its still working very well, Processor: Intel® Core i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.3GHz Memory: 65536 MB RAM Card name: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Display Memory: 43749 MB Dedicated Memory: 11048 MB Shared Memory: 32701 MB Current Mode: 3440 x 1440 (32 bit) (60Hz) Drive: C: Total Space: 242.8 GB File System: NTFS Model: Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB Drive: D: Total Space: 1907.7 GB File System: NTFS Model: ST2000DM001-1CH164 Drive: E: Total Space: 953.9 GB File System: NTFS Model: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB Hope this helps, Cheers!
