GarglingGlass
I was wondering who has Dragonborn, who is enjoying it and who is having performance issues and mod conflicts. I just got it this morning. Just being anal, I decided not to start it with my main character until I've finished the main quest, so I'm blasting through that (which I forgot how buggy THAT is..) So far, the only part of Dragonborn I've experienced are the cultists confronting me and trying to kill me. I haven't even been to Solstheim yet. So I've been running about 100 mods give or take through multiple playthroughs. Everythings compatible, everything runs smoothly. Even took 3 or 4 days to tweak my .ini so that it does what I want with limited performance cost. Conflicts: So far the only conflict I've noticed is with a cooking mod. Which one I'm not sure yet because I haven't even tried to narrow it down. Just been buying from inns (I have to eat thanks to Realistic Needs and Diseases. When I scroll through the list of food I can cook it gets to some point that it instantly crashes to desktop. I use Babettes Feast and Cooking Expanded, both have patches for SkyRe. Again, I haven't been to Solstheim yet so.. Well, so far so good. Performance: Even though I haven't even started the quest yet, I've taken a major performance hit since I've installed it. I'm not talking a general addition of resources either, so I'm wondering what the culprit is. At random intervals I won't just suffer lag but complete slowdown and choppiness for no apparent reason. Even in the wilderness. Has anyone else encountered this?
Hoodlumninja
I literally can't play Skyrim now with how glitchy it is, constantly crashing with in 2 minutes of gameplay.
Sigurd44
I literally can't play Skyrim now with how glitchy it is, constantly crashing with in 2 minutes of gameplay. I use a lot of mods too, ultra high grafic settings and tweaked my .ini files (LOD 20, shadows 4096, uGridtoLoad 7/64, Treeload at 100.000 only to name a few). My problem isn't the performance ingame, it's the performance for starting and loading a game and cell zoning. If I could enter the game I have the usual fps (around 20 to 30fps) I had before and saw no real mod conflicts yet, but loading a game has become a lottery now. My load times almost doubled and sometimes they end in an eternal loading loop... I have a 670 GTX with 4GB VRAM and 8 GB RAM. I haven't watched the VRAM use yet, but the RAM use increased in my eyes. Where I could watch a usage of maybe 5,5 to 6 GB RAM I now watch numbers of 7GB and a even more at peaks. I already got a windows message to change my profile. I used the Aero skin before. This skin eats up some performance, but before this was never a problem. I use a SSD and therefore I was somewhat irritated by this long load times. I ordered before 8 GB additional RAM (for 16 GB in total then) and another Asus 670 GTX 4 GB VRAM. I will tell you if this will make any difference.
hard8
I finished dragoborn last night, and removed all the other unofficial patches except the new Unofficial Dragonborn Patch released Tuesday night .. I was able to mount and ride the dragon in Summit of Apocryph, Miraak is bugged so you might have to restart several times if he goes into his transparent invulnerable state glitch, 2 quests where stuck in my journal, the one quest of the skaals to look for a brother the werebear quest it stayed in my journal misc menu after completing it, the second with the reading of a black book it was stuck in my misc menu because I cheated and retrieved the book to early tcl through a door! to get it.. Owe there's a quest to fetch east emperor amulets it never leaves you misc menu, because dragonborn placed them through out the game and not just in Dragonborn new lands!.. I have no mods in my game that effect dragons and there spawning etc Edited February 7, 2013 by hard8
billyro
I am not experiencing any performance issues whatsoever, and I have 100+ mods installed. Also, since the textures on Solstheim are lower res than my current installed mods, it loads faster. :)
Lawlacaust
I found the new DLC added to my performance so its nice and no bugs yet.
GarglingGlass
I'd feel better about complaining if I could pinpoint what my problem is. Basically, my game went from running smoothly as I feel the game was intended, to running like it did a year ago with almost as many (yet more simplistic) mods. My convenient horses have become less than convenient. Don't forget to the update your ReProccer to include the Dragonborn armors. Obviously when you have an assorted hodgepodge of mods things are gonna get a lil weird, it just kinda sucks that this one DLC has thrown an ebony wrench in my steel gears. I didn't have this problem with Dawnguard. At least it isn't game breaking yet (though I have had to begin adding dragon souls via console everytime I kill a dragon, because they don't have souls anymore). Basically what I'm saying is welcome to Skyrim modding community circa early 2012...
