Sky999
Please refrain from any spoilers. I just purchased the new Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim, but I'm curious as to what point it makes sense to visit Solsteim and do the new quest lines involved chronologically speaking? What I mean is, and again without giving any spoilers, is the dragonborn DLC plotline better played after the completion of the main quest of vanilla Skyrim, speaking purely on story terms, or is it told so that you can, as is the case in my playthrough, start the DLC main quest while being half way through the main vanilla quest and have it still make sense story wise and chronologically? hard8
It depends on how long you wont to fight Miraak for in the final main quest for Dragonborn, the weaker the character the longer it well take to defeat him, I can't go any further with advice without spoiling it for you, there's to much useful stuff in dragonborn to mention!.. toepick
Does it make a nice addition while you are leveling up than? I understand there are new items/spells..obviously new places to explore with more side quests ect.. Was wondering the same as OP, if I should wait until I'm finished with vanilla main quest and higher level. Also I use skyrim unleashed and w/ duel combat (among other) mods to up the difficulty.. and I suppose it will be a bit before the mods come in line. seth2012
I can't play dragonborn even can't play whole skyrim cause of the bugs dragonborn brought along but still I don't believe the stories of the main quest and dlc rerlate much so play which one you like first. modder3434
in regards to the main quest, you have to complete thee Greybeards quest so they officially name you Dragonborn. Then the DLC starts. However the only story aspect that is affected is some of your initial conversation with the main bad guy of the DLC, depending if you killed Alduin or not. other then that you don't have to go halfway thru the main quest to finish the DLC. Well, one can only wait for a patch to come out, official or unofficial. And the unofficial one released isn't aware of most bugs right now, especially the missing scripts that are causing CTDs because the game is looping the script constantly.
