Fallout3 GOTY crashing upon/during Birth scene

So I recently purchased the Goty version from steam and was going to play it last night but I couldn't get past the birth screen so I uninstalled it and the mods I downloaded that same night and re-downloaded the game. Trying to play it this morning, I was getting the same issue so I searched it up hoping for a simple fix. I've tried everything from the ".ini" fix(so only 1 core would be running), the d3d9.dll fix, going to the main .exe file and changing the compatibility thing, Disabling HDR, one monitor running, The latest .net framework. and nothing is working. All my mods are disable too btw, this is from a clean re-install of the game.

 

 

CPU: AMD A10-5800k APU with Radeon HDGraphics 3.80GHz

RAM: 8 GB

GPU: Radeon HD 6850

You do not have to limit your CPU to only one core, two will work just fine. Try this, run only Fallout3, no DLC, no mods, just the core game. If you progress past the birth scene, continue until the birthday party. At that point, make a hard save and exit the game. Now activate the DLCs. Just before you leave Vault 101, make another save and activate your mods.

I had the same problem with a new install of the OS and the game and this worked for me.

The same thing is happening to me. The problem is it freezes about 10 seconds into the game, so there is no hope of getting to the birthday party. I have spent most of last night/today trying to fix this. Everything from reinstalling to the game several times to messing with the .ini file. Anyways, help would be amazing.

Im heaving a similar problem i get to the point where you chose your gender and than the game basicly freez up and thats it. The gender selection pop up is delayed form 30 secs to about 2 mins from where its suposed to appear. Thanks for any help.
