Game crashes whenever I approach a city

I don't know what is causing it, but it is game breaking. Anyone have a solution?

same, cant even start a new character as Helgen crshes, sometimes when I leave a building it happens too. started after I got DB. Thought it was conflicting with a mod, but unable to tell which one. Use buss, current skse, did a TES5Edit clean too. New to modding, but have 80 mods, and no two mods for the same thing so not quite sure whats going on. I'll keep an eye on this thread and add any relevant info that smarter people then I ask for.

Both of you should list your mod order. Any chance any of those mods is Open Cities Skyrim?

A few of these are unclicked though: shoot I somehow cant see any boxes in my plug in page now. wtf.. >< well, the realistic lighting ones were definately diasble, idk what happened now though. arg. Hate being a technonoob.

 

Edit, oh yeah the Khajiit and argonian pc exclusive path thingies were unclicked so those two races sneak and sprint on all fours. love that mod. KISS i believe it was called.

 

 

 

Ok, ones not checked: realistic lighting and patcher for it, as well as green water fix (didn't fix my inability to see in Riften waters, at all, just blank green in there) and the ones stated above. someone else in another thread mentioned they fixed their issues by unckecking update.esm when they don't have new mods to add, but I'm unsure if that has anything to do with my issue.

Hope this info helps. I'm not sure its related but i crash a lot less when I do not have update.esm checked. I still crash occasionally, but not as often. Still cannot load helgen in the tutorial etc.

Really hoping someone much smarter then I (doesn't take much when it comes to this stuff, i've only been modding for about 2 weeks and im sure it shows) can help.

Can you post your BOSS log instead (with the messages)? Include the list of mods not recognized by BOSS if one is generated. Enclose both in spoiler tags so they don't clutter the screen.

 

Also, do you CTD when you approach every city, or just certain ones (which)? What happens when you fast travel? Are there any other patterns to the CTDs (with followers, with a particular follower, while riding, only on foot, etc.)?

Don't use this mod. It's buggy even with the updated fix patch. Use something like 'Ars Metallica' instead.

 

2)

UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.esp Active

Since you have the DG DLC, go download the UFO DG plugin.

4) It's recommend that you download the unofficial patch for the base game and the DLCs you have (DG and DB).

 

5) This is unrelated to your CTDs, but since you are using a number of 'give more stuff to NPCs' mods like cloaks, immersive armour, immersive weapons, etc., you'll need to download Wrye Bash and generate a Bashed Patch to merge the conflicting leveled lists edits, so the items from all those mods will appear properly on respawning MOBs.

 

6) The plugins not recognized by BOSS go to the end of the load order after you run BOSS. Their load order position need to be arranged manually and absolutely do not simply allow them to load after the other mod because if they contain conflicting records, they will override changes made by other mods loaded earlier. The best way to handle this is to use TES5Edit to check the esp's and see if these unrecognized plugins actually conflict with the other plugins in your load order. If they do, you'll have to decide where they should go based on who you think should 'win' the contest of conflicting records. If they don't conflict with other plugins, then you can load them anywhere above your compatibility patches (e.g. the Bashed Patch). Alternatively, you can disable those plugins for now, and do the esp checking after you've fixed the CTD issues, so you won't have to deal with too many issues at once.
