NexBeth
Have you gone ingame not using an existing save?
TyburnKetch
Yes. Well... I COCd in to the cell in question. Thinking about it though, what I did not do was disable ENB after deleting the rogue edits in SSEEdit. Will have a go at that when I can.
TyburnKetch
Ok, tested in cell after a COC with ENB Series disabled, having deleted the edits, as above, in SSEEdit, but unfortunately the lightbeam FX is still jitterring after 15 or so secs, on repeat. It must be some other setting ...
NexBeth
What does the ENB install into the game directory? If there is loose files, check to see if there are any still there. Disabling ENB is not the same as completely uninstalling.
TyburnKetch
Right. Finally had a chance to look into this more and now I am completely lost. I have completely uninstalled everything! All trace of SE, mods, addons, enb. Everything from my PC. Have also removed mod manager and all traces of any mod (Bar the zip files in my downloads folder). Have reinstalled SE. Totally vanilla. All I have running on top of vanilla is SKSE, the Unofficial SE patch (both needed for my mod and both latest versions) and my plugin, with the scripts, meshes and texture needed for it. I also have the CK in the SE directory. That is literally it! I have cleaned the masters and gone through SSEEDIT for my mod to check for any rogue edits. Nothing unwanted. No records on the fxlightbeam. All ini files are vanilla bar my preferred setting on the SE launcher. But I am still having this glitchy light beam problem! Every 15 secs or so the beam stutters as though it is resetting a loop. Anymore suggestions? Many thanks.
NexBeth
I use these beams in my house mods a lot. Just checked on the one I am currently working on and saw no problem. Can you test on a different computer? If so, go in and look at a vanilla cell to see if the problem persists without your mod. Then test your mod. Any chance you can video record the problem and post it? Might it be a bit of lag going on with your PC that is causing a tiny studder? When you first mentioned this, you seemed uncertain about the problem so it must be pretty subtle.
TyburnKetch
I have done a few more tests. Unfortunately I do not have the option of a different PC. I have not actually played Skyrim SE in about two years now, just been modding, on and off. I do not remember this issue before when I was playing a heavily modded game. Same PC. Completely removed my mod. Scripts, Meshes, Textures and .esp. (That is all I have generated) Coc'd to Belethors General Store. Same issue. Jittering FXLightbeam. Removed SKSE and then Unofficial Patch (seeing as they were the only two things left that were not vanilla) Same issue. Jitter. The link will show what I am seeing. Around 0.18 secs. Apologies for the watermark  Edit: Video to follow. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/457eitwmhqmqvyx/AACE6n28EjQIeHXUAlgyidrpa?dl=0 Edited September 23, 2020 by TyburnKetch
NexBeth
If you want, you can give me a copy of your mod and I will test. I just went into Belethor's and saw no such problem. I have SKSE and USSEP installed as well.
TyburnKetch
Thnaks Nexbeth, but having already tested it without my mod installed (or even in the games directory) I do not think it is the mod. I think it is either my graphics card, or some other ini setting. Are you using vanilla .ini settings? Thanks for your continued support.
NexBeth
No, there are some modifications to my ini but can't remember which they were. You can regenerate the ini by deleting it and then doing a file verification through steam. But, you said you already started over fresh. GPU sounds plausible, but it only effects the dim FX? That would be weird. It definitely looks like a momentary hiccup or stutter, such as a quick lag you might get while playing the game. Maybe reset you gpu to default settings? On the other hand, it seems like only a local problem for you so you could just forget about it and continue on with your mod--if your plan was to publish, it won't show up on downloads.
