Rithareous
Hello,Is anyone aware of a mod which enables Oblivion to play in non-fullscreen? In most of my games I find myself casually switching back and forth between the game and my background applications, but with Oblivion whenever I alt+tab there's a 50/50 shot that the game will be frozen when I return. I can't imagine I'm the only person who's asked for such a mod, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.Thanks. Tchos
If I recall correctly, all you need to do is edit your Oblivion.ini file under the [Display] heading, and set it to: bFull Screen=0 That should give you windowed mode. I used it for exactly the reason you mention.

Rithareous
Ha, didn't even think to try that. Thanks alex2avs.
bben46
Oblivion does not always work well with other programs. Something like an IM coming in can cause the game to freeze. An updating program (why does every application think it absolutely needs to call home every day?) can cause a CTD. Windows indexing service or an auto defrag can slow you down to a crawl and cause hesitations of more a second during play. As you have noticed, it doesn't happen every time, but often enough to be a pain when it does. I have been just killing everything else and going offline when I play. Maybe a way to pause the game before switching would work.
Rithareous
I have noticed Oblivion becoming nigh-unplayable at certain instances, but I mostly attributed this to Adrenaline or one of the texture mods I'm running. I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the advice.
