XxFigmentxX
I am a horder... (As I'm sure a lot of you are also) And as such, I tend to accumulate a lot of crap. I set my houses up according to what I need readily available to me. (Lakeview is my main spot for displaying stuff, Windstrad is my main crafting house since everything is in the cellar, etc)I'm also very OCD about storing and organizing my stuff. However, after traveling Tramiel for days on end, when I go back I tend to forget where I put stuff... And end up having to search through stuff for 20 minutes until I find what I'm looking for.It would be AWESOME to be able to place a sign above, in front of, around, etc storage containers to label what's in them. I took a look at the creation kit and it's just beyond me. Graphics editing I can do..Building a mod..not so much. Any takers? :D Purdy Please? Dudeman325
Hrm... Making placeable signs shouldn't be too hard, seeing as how other mods have done placeable objects like in Frostfall and Portable Campsite. The problem I see is if you wanted the signs to have custom text that you edit in game, as I don't know of any way that art is dynamically generated in game (other than the character generator sliders, which is a whole new complication). Perhaps if the "sign" was just an activator that popped up a message box? Although I'm not sure if I've seen any message boxes that allowed text entry... I don't have the scripting skills to make placeable objects on my own, but I'm sure if someone talented enough decided to give this a shot, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to at least make a set of pre-generated signs that could be crafted/bought and placed. Just a set of signs that said things like Metal, Skins, Armor, Weapons, etc. Signs that matched the type or category of things you carry. (I'm using SkyUI. I can't remember if the default shows class and/or type)I've been going over modding forums other than Nexus, and I've played with the tools a little... but I'm afraid this is WAY beyond my learning curve... I'm just hoping SOMEONE out there has the same "need" that I do, AND has the knowledge to do this. I will dedicate a shrine in every one of my houses to the person who can do this.... XxFigmentxX
Ok, Reviving my old thread.I've been tinkering with the Creation Kit, and I simply just can't grasp how to do this right. I've tried the tutorials, read the wiki's and blogs. I'm just not meant to physically mod something yet. (I WILL LEARN THIS!)Anyways, so here's my idea.I want to make signs that you can place. They don't need to be editable. They can be pre-set with certain phrases, and craftable at a workbench or forge. For example:A sign that reads "Ingots" would need 2 Firewood and 1 Iron Ingot.A sign that reads "Hides" would require an animal pelt and 2 FirewoodSo on and so forth. To me, this seems like something REALLY simple to do, but I've been unable to find a tutorial that'll explain things in "For Dummies" terminology so that I can tackle this myself. Anyone who can point me to a good tutorial to teach me how to do this, I'll love you forever (And give you credit if I can get it working right and end up posting it for others to use)
