I and my friend are new modders. I haven't shown him this yet, but this looks like a great idea! If I knew more about modding and/or was a better modder, I would say all in, but right now at my skill level, I'd have to say good luck! I may be able to do some basic interiors though; I'm not too bad at that.

Yeah, not sure how to make the "clean" yet undrinkable water; however the logic of it is fine, just the method to get here is a little tricky.

 

And that would be AMAZING if you could get the reg. buildings of NYC, then put an airborne city among the skyscrapers.

And that face bears an uncanny resemblance to a certain french lady. A very good start.

Ooh, how about a skyscraper with a boat crashed through part of it? Now that's something you don't see everyday...

This could be pretty sweet, as long as you don't have to play Kevin Costner with gills...

Yes I even tought of a Zeppelin crash somewhere in a skyscraper , since in future past was tought they would become like ships in air docking at skyscrapers points....

Ok here is a new map solution possibly much of it will be segmented into separate areas where individual modders could pick up and mod for hemsleves thuis making the mod combinable I tougt about working on the green area mostly ..... but an overall plan would help ... so beeing modularized would allow a release of per sectors ad ons and also they could be linked together little b y little opening parts of city or connecting with some sort of comunication....

 

of course much of the rest of the map wll be scenography around the area with fake buildings viewable by distance surrounding all rest of th playable zone ....

the gree area is by no men difinitive or anything just a suggestion to me tkeep the mod "possible" instead of starting in gigantic way and then get no help...

 

open to suggestions ...

If you guys start this up I can help a bit. I will be working on tall buildings and city stuff for the Sin City project so you could use some of that. Also I LOVE! the idea of a flooded city so I could make some aquatic themed destroyed buildings. I would love to see my hanging city idea used somewhere. You guts should group up and get a mod team together.

I just hope there will be some elevation variation. I'd like to see some really deep spots, as well as spots shallow enough you have streets rising up out of the water.

I think it will be like so becouse the Manhattan Island risesin height according to the simulations I did of flooding toward the north , so flooded south Manhattan and surfacing the part north .....

Hello I have made a esp with a smoothed ground etc but when I go to make the lods I have a lot of issues with bad meshes created bad water lod and missing water in world stuff , what can this be due to?

 

the map to create was a 2048 x2048 and the space was 64x64 cells

LOD is not very well known at this point, I have generated it a bunch of times (with varying degrees of success)

its very finicky, make sure you back up your mod before you generate it (bad things can happen (ask jaysus)

The Global travel system guy has done a bunch of stuff with it so you may be able to ask him.

 

I will have more experience with it once I generate it for the Phoenix worldspace.

 

For now we are all kind of experimenting.
