New Race: Raven

I am not willing to share too much info on what I will be making but you can read from the title that its a new race added into the game to bring more of the "lore" out - I'll work on that.

 

Ravens: Short summary ~ the epitome of hunters in the fallout era. Brutal as Super Mutants but faster and smarter (we'll let that be the lore.)

 

 

Ok! I've been working in the race editor and enabled a new race that looks like this:

This is the player verison of the race at default settings when chosen as race (minus the hair, which is suppose to be messy02).

 

I didn't want to make another malevolent race however the mood that Fallout emits does influence how I shape their intentions and purpose for entertainment.

 

 

Balthazar Beta

Now the very first Raven created is the beta for the npc versions and I wanted to see what would happen with some custom tweaks to the AI...

 

His name is Balthazar but not sure if i'll keep him after things are set.

What happened at Megaton

I placed Balt into Moriarty's Saloon, facing a wall near Burke's chair.

My character was behind the bar in the computer room and all I heard was gunshots, and death.

This dude tore into everyone that was there but Nova and Gob fled quickly. I tried to work with Moriarty and Billy to defend the place.

 

This guy beat the crap out of me and made me his female dog. I backed up away to get some distance and was cornered into his spawn area (Burke's chair area) - but I ran around as soon as Billy came to fight.

 

He killed Billy after he repeated my mistake of backing into that tiny room. Moriarty was trying as much as he could to defend himself and his place but, Balthazar took him out with his custom sword (i'll show it another time, its pretty sweet).

 

I ran the hell out of the saloon and back out to Megaton hoping they'll kill him. This guy follows me outside and kills me.

I hit tilde and typed tfc to watch him go after other people. He stole my damn light saber and decided to do battle with everyone outside.

 

Every npc that had a gun or knife and was willing to fight took him down after a long minute in a group. They used a flamer, and someone else took a damn light saber. (I had a billion of them on my person who was pretty close to the battle.)

 

So the black mechanic girl who's usually outside takes his head off in a swing. There's more to the story but I figure (tl;dr) would occur.

 

Anyways I didn't take many screenshots, I was just in awe at the battle scene.

I hope to bring some EPIC in your Fallout world soon.

what are those yellow "tattoos" supposed to be?

i could suggest to make their veins glow yellow, that would look like some virus/radiation affected race...

Sweet. This is really, really cool. The only problem is, if somebody who just arrives in Megaton (Level 2, Level 3), how are they supposed to kill somebody who's killing the people in the saloon and a bunch of people outside? And even if they do, what if this "person from the new race" kills an important character in Megaton?

 

I just thought I'd bring that up.

 

On a side note, the new race you've made looks pretty good. Keep up the good work.

@ omgwtf666: I did make the hand viens yellowish. But its only for Balthazar. I'm only certain that for Balt, he'll be the guy with gold.

 

@ cowgirlfromhell: The placement for Balthazar was not meant to be a permanent thing, just test to see what happens with the way I set his AI up. He didn't disappoint and he's killable (he is melee and small guns only but, he strictly takes up melee instead.)

about megaton - it would be cool if it got wiped tho, or another settlement, maybe big town? obviously event triggered tho, so players get the chance to do the quests etc. just a thought.

That's the idea along with some other things to interact personally with your character. I'm going to look into a few other things people probably haven't thought about yet. (Flying creatures.) :thumbsup:

Like the idea .. now how to integrate into the game .. maybe a vampire variant or such, the bad ones. Really interested in where you take this.

Kinda resembles the joker, in a way. Possibly somewhat inspired by that?

So I got a brainfart here: What if, after completing the main quest, so that it doesn't ruin the game, billy badass there gets introduced. He roams around the wastes, and pops into different towns once in a while looking for you, and generally ruining people's day along the way until he eventually runs into you..?
