Kathalie
I just started a new game as I was having some issues with physics in my previous game.I uninstalled all my mods and installed them again in order of requirements.A couple mods were removed after I found they were incompatible with others and likely the cause of the issues. Now I have run into a problem I am simply unable to solve on my own, so I'm hoping the community here can help. The issue I have is that NPC's will behave in abnormal ways. Some NPC's will move around without walking, like a statue sliding over the ground. From the Immersive wenches mod the travelling wenches and their guards will simply stand in one place and never move.As I use Alternate start I at one point went to Helgen to start the Dragonborn quest. I saved the imperial guy(forgot his name) and he was the one behaving the worst. At one point walking along the river towards Riverwood the road did a small turn and the guy just kept going straight, if not for a rock blocking his way he would have walked into the river.I got him back on the road by just interacting with him. Once we got to the gate at Riverwood he would suddenly take off at a sprint and not stop until he got to the Riverwood trader, where he just turned around and ran back to the gate. When I tried interacting with him like before he took off out of down and just ran into the bushes along the side of the road. I can't for the life of me figure out what is causing it.I tried looking at it with SSEEdit, but quite frankly could not make heads or tails of any of it. anjenthedog
Well, the best I can offer is that some "essential" mods seem to inject odd behaviors we might not expect to see. And other mods cause conflict that can cause odd behavior. Which one I couldn't say. from your list of mods above (which seems to be missing LAL although you said you use it, there are only two I see that I recognize that could widely alter behaviors. Immersive Encounters and USSEP. Having said that, I use neither, (and after removing USSEP I've experienced far few weird behaviors, and I've never installed Immersive encounters so I can't speak to that one aside from what I recall of skimming the description way back when), but I do still occasionally run into NPC guards that I find running from one location to another, seemingly without purpose., as if they were couriers or something... or It could be they're accidentally spawned to the wrong start location and are trying to get back to where they belong, it could be they're those guard who are "sent to investigate a problem" that one occasionally runs into in the wilds, although you say the one you saw ran all the way to Riverwood and started back to wherever he came from, so idk. Anecdote, yesterday, I was sent to a mine to get rid fo a bandit leader. After clearing the opposition above ground (four bandits, including two archers and two heavy thugs) I entered the mine, took out the bandits guarding a locked gate, opened the gate, and as I went down a level, up came five Whiterun guards who proceeded to attack me, following me outside and continuing to attack me until I got fed up and wiped them out. Afterwards, I took care of the bandit leader and headed back to Whiterun to either face the music (for killing five guards!!!) or pick up my bounty. I purposefully went right up to the first guard I saw in Whiterun, because I suspected they might be some sort of glitch (four of the five guards disappeared literally right after I finished killing them, and found several dead animals where their bodies should have been) or the possibility that they were spawned somehow by a mod I have called Skyrim Immersive Creatures Al I got was one of the standard greetings. Went up to another, standard greeting...went up to as many as I could on the way to the keep. all were standard greetings...as if these five never existed. Even though I killed four of them well within sight of Whiterun's walls, (the other at the mine entrance as I went back to take care of the bandit leader, so perhaps that last one could go unnoticed and unreported) I had intended to reload from a point prior to my earlier encounter with the guard if it had put me in a "bad" position, since I like to play the "clean cut murderous Dragon reborn with a thousand kills under her belt but is friend to all innocents" rather than a cold blooded villain who takes joy in killing guards for sport like you may have seen in a hundred showcase videos produced by the likes of MXR...(Imperial soldiers, Whiterun/et al guards, or Nord soldiers...Aldemari excepted. I wipe them when I see them), but there was no need. I have no bounty on my head. They were a phantom, either produced by a glitch in the game or perhaps by Skyrim Immersive Creatures. Point to my long winded blather: some encounters are just weird. Not saying that IS your case, but it is something to consider. Hopefully someone will come along with a more concise answer for you, and maybe some "solution" but just in case they don't... best wishes
Kathalie
Not sure why LAL was not in the list, but have updated it now.
anjenthedog
Load order doesn't always accurately reflect the full mod list, since load order is evidenced by plugins. Not sure if LAL has plugins or not, (although I'd think it would), but whatever... NO harm no foul. (personally, I deleted it due to repeated CTDs when approaching cities and attempts to fast travel, so I couldn't say) In any case, almost all of your listed mods seem to be of the variety where I would expect no interaction with NPC behavior, so from what I can see, it'd be down to USSEP, LAL, and immersive encounters. The more I think about it. immersive encounters sounds like a good candidate, since as I recall from a quick scan of the description when I first saw it, (I used to religiously read all the descriptions of mods on the new mods page and via mod categories) it's meant to provide more encounters with NPCs "the wild", isn't it? nvm, just checked again to make sure I was on the right track about what it does "Immersive World Encounters aims to enhance your game-play experience to be more diverse and engaging by adding more than 70 new random events as well as modifying some of the vanilla events"
Kathalie
I haven't checked yet, but for the sake of argument let's say it's Immersive encounters.I had that mod in my previous game and a number of games before that and never had any issues with it, so why would it cause issues now? USSEP and LAL I had for as long as I can remember and not had any issues with. Edit:I disabled Immersive Encounters and the problem persists.I think I'll just try a reinstall and see if that fixes it. anjenthedog
No idea. Just suggesting that from a scan of your listed mods, those are the only ones that *i* recognize as likely sources. It could be something else. idk. best wishes.
IsharaMeradin
Make sure you run FNIS for users. The skating issue mentioned in the first post is a potential side-effect of not updating FNIS after changing mods, especially animation mods. As far as Hadvar behaving weirdly, I have no idea. Could be a pathing issue partly caused by problems in the navmesh and / or partly caused by changes or additions to his AI packages. Maybe with all that SOS stuff he needed to cool off for a bit and headed for the river? You forced him back to the road and when he got to town realized he didn't want his aunt and niece to see him like that and just went crazy trying to get out of there. :P
Kathalie
FNIS was my first thought, but despite running it multiple times it's still not working.Tried reinstalling everything including Skyrim, but the problem persists.
