Song of Martyred Poet

Untitled song, salvaged from a burnt and bloodied book:

The sky is red over Solitude

Red banners flying, they darken the sun.

The graves are cold under Solitude

the death of our children is all that's been won.

Wrong, it's all wrong,

this is no hero's song

There'll be no peace in Skyrim

til the Thalmor are gone.

The river is red under Wyndhelm

Blood of the Stormcloaks, the blood of their kin.

The graves are cold under Wyndhelm

Trace the path of their blood and you'll see where they've been.

And it's wrong- it's all wrong

this is no hero's song.

There'll be no peace in Skyrim

til the Thalmor are gone.

The streets flow red through Whiterun

As brother fights brother under enemies' eyes

The graves are cold under Whiterun

Red cloak or blue, it's the grave that's your prize.

And it's wrong- it's all wrong

this is no hero's song.

There'll be no peace in Skyrim

til the Thalmor are gone.

They pit us like dogs in a white-golden ring

Starved of our freedom and pride.

Smiling like wolves as they keep their hands clean.

It's the peace of the grave they provide.

It's wrong- it's all wrong.

This is no hero's song.

There'll be no peace in Skyrim

til the Thalmor are gone.
