Somnazul
Not only would I love to see dragoon themed armors in Skyrim, but I think the concept could fit in seamlessly with the lore.Dragoons in many fantasy stories are fabled dragon slayers, dragon protectors if the dragons are good, dragon riders, or at least have fearsome strength to rival dragons. So it seems to fit well with the concept of Dragonborn. The visuals below are for armor/weapon modders either to try to imitate what is shown or get inspiration from them. Larc (Red) - Legend of ManaA heavy, plate armor with 1H axe. Looks like it would go great with an Argonian or Khajiit dragoon. http://www.seikens.com/wordpress/wp-content/gallery/legend-of-mana/Larc.jpg Sierra (White w/ Green) - Legend of ManaSeems more promising as a light armor, especially coupled with dual-wielding knives. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120409125904/mana/images/d/d7/Sierra.png Bangaa (Purple) - Final Fantasy Tactics AdvancePlate armor and leather! Interesting design seems more suited for an Argonian due to it already being made for a reptilian race. http://images.wikia.com/ffrpg/images/f/f9/Ffta-bangaa-dragoon.jpg Female Hero (Ancient/Tribal?) - Legend of ManaI always thought the heroine of LoM looked like a mystic type of dragoon, and imagined she belonged to an ancient bloodline. http://www.seikens.com/wordpress/wp-content/gallery/legend-of-mana/heroine.jpg Duran (Slayer) - Seiken Densetsu 3Fights in light armor, but strikes with a heavy blade and deadly accuracy. This dragon hunter style fits a Dragonborn dragoon very well. http://images.wikia.com/mana/images/d/d0/DuranDuelist.pngKain Highwind (Dark) - Final Fantasy IVObviously heavy, knight type dragoon. When I think "dragoon" I tend to think "Kain." He really set the mold. http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101120100912/finalfantasy/images/1/19/Kain_%28Dissidia_012%29.pngStroud (Royal) - Dawn of ManaFancy. Stylish heavy armor for a battle mage class dragoon.http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120306020650/mana/images/thumb/2/2a/Stroud.png/924px-Stroud.png Edited March 17, 2013 by Somnazul
Strokend
Larc, Sierra, and "Female Hero" don't show up. Bangaa Dragoons weren't dragonslayers, but rather, Knights who imitated Dragons. They wielded "Dragon Magic" that worked similarly to Thu'um would, only draining mana instead of causing a SHout Cooldown. It would be interesting to have Z-key based mana spells that had you "spit out" fire, ice, lightning, or FORCE (Bangaa Cry). Further, the Dragoon Class outside of Tactics Advanced isn't actually related to dragon slaying, but rather just the use of a spear/lance and jump-style fighting. Finally, there's a certain dragon you missed: Legend of Dragoon's (These Dragoons are supposed to serve as protectors of dragons, but certainly have the power to defeat them). I fixed the pictures I hope. And look, when it comes to the fantasy genre, dragoons can be many things. I mentioned that in my second sentence. Like Larc and Sierra being loyal guardians of the dragons and their mana crystals. Others, as you said, use a lance and have a certain fighting style.I did not list the Legend of Dragoon myself since I did not like their design all that much, but hey, if someone puts them into Skyrim I won't complain. Somnazul
Found some more designs.Ricard - Final Fantasy II (Vampire?)Seems like a decent design for a vampire dragoon with the bat-like helm and viciously dark panoply and spear.http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120604115458/finalfantasy/images/9/95/Amano_Ricard.jpg Final Fantasy XI (Basic)- malehttp://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110126071948/finalfantasy/images/0/00/Dragoon_Concept.jpg- femalehttp://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/ffxi/images/c/c6/Mithra_Dragoon.jpgHobgoblin Dragoon (Elven) - Magic the GatheringThis seems like a great idea for a light, elven style dragoon set.http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/hobgoblin_dragoon.JPG Edited April 3, 2013 by Somnazul
Somnazul
I'm not giving up on this. Here are some more styles. Burmecian - FFIX (Light and Stylish)A dragoon wearing clothing instead of armor. This would fit a spell casting dragoon for Skryim. http://images.wikia.com/finalfantasy/images/b/bd/EarlyFFIX-Burmecian_Dragoon.jpg Kain Highwind - FF IV: The After Years (Sacred)Incredibly regal appearance coupled with what I would think would be light armor; a dragon scale and mythril mix. http://lparchive.org/Final-Fantasy-IV-The-After-Years/Update%20125/1-Holy_Kain_Artwork.png Edited April 3, 2013 by Somnazul
Somnazul
Dragoon - Ogre Battle (Righteous) (Male and Female armors)The "Justice" dealers of the dragoon class. Always looking to smite evil at it's heart. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37107901/online/Dragoon_OgreBattle.JPG
MARCUSSS92
Well that can be possible? i mean. Maybe if not 100% lore friendly a dragoon banga armor can fit well on an argonian: using shouts instead of the dragon magic and if not a spear a weapon which look alike. copying from http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dragoon_%28Tactics_Advance%29 :"Dragoons are the most Attack-oriented bangaa Job. They have the highest Attack in the game, high HP and Defense, and average Speed. Their Magic Power and Resistance are the lowest in the game". a bit slow but still unstoppable
