OGJay
Awesome idea man! I like this type of creatures but is that the texture you are going to use? Maybe some brown fur texture or white fur texture or in mixed colors. The idea is great and the model looks good. You can call it Behemoth. If its in white fur it could be Ice Behemoth, if its brown just Behemoth.
ihateregisteringeverywhere
You could give it some nice semi-transparent patches of white fur extruding from places like the knee's and elbow's. That would most certainly give the creature some depth. Atleast I'd like to think so.

If its in white fur it could be Ice Behemoth, if its brown just Behemoth. That is actually a zebra texture I placed on him in blender just for fun but I like the look of it. I will probably use a black and white texture and I may use stripes but he needs to blend with the ice so he will be more white than black when finished. The teeth and tusks need to be a bit yellow but I still don't know enough about texturing to achieve the effect I want. He should have thick matted fur on the shoulder hump (like the Bison) and short flat hair on the hind legs and rump. I will probably give him the fighting style of a bear or a mountain lion but he will be sooooo much tougher. I will be placing a border north of where you will find this creature, so the player will not be able to go any further north on the continent. I still want this creature to protect that border and I am hoping that the player will never reach the point where the message "You can not go that way, turn back." appears. The player should fight this animal but quickly learn that the best thing to do when you see one is turn and run. Maybe when the player reaches high levels they can take him on but even then, I wouldn't count on it. I will say that the beast can die but killing him will be something to be proud of. I thought of making thick fur around the wrists and ankles but I'm not sure the game engine could handle particles that well. I may yet add the fur in the 16 bit map detail. We will have to wait and see.
OGJay
Look at the rat for example, he has a hair on the hump. Btw what do you think about the name?

Behemoth is a good name but a little too familiar, I don't think a biblical name would be right for this creature so Behemoth and Leviathan are not going to be used. ihateregisteringeverywhere
Things like that aren't particles, but very simple shapes with a two-sided transparent texture. You should be able to cover one patch with a single quad, more of you realy want to go for a thick "patch" of hairs.

I don't know anything about two-sided transparent texture, haven't reached that point in my learning yet. Like I've said before, I don't know anything about textures but I'm learning. I wanted to be able to put new creatures into the game and I figured that since Blender was the most complicated program, I might as well start there. After Blender, Nifskope and the Gimp should be a breeze. lol
exanimis
Naming this creature has been fun so far so I might as well load another to be named. Since I will have a pyramid in my mod I have to have mummies. This is my first attempt at a mummy and he is a WIP but he still needs a name other than Mummy Dearest. Sorry but I'm not using Mum Rah from the Heman cartoon. http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/Pellucidar/MummyF.jpg The hole in his side will show muscle and ribs. He will be wrapped like his arm with some skin showing and he will have the short "skirt" and jewelry that the Pharaoh's wore. This will be something like the zombies in Cyrodiil. Keep the names coming and I'll keep adding creatures. Thanks everyone.
