Malakith2
Ok so i get the whole filepath thing which is.... C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data The problem im having is all of these mods have simple guides on how to install.... However none of them account for the prompt windows has about renaming a folder that has the same name... Ill give you my latest example. I installed a mod that changed females faces around abit. and extracted them to the file path i mentiond above. The mod works fine... Now ive found another mod i want, I extract to the filepath above, and its asking me if i want to rename or replace all the other folders from the other mod.... Folders like Textures, meshes and so on. How the hell using this extract to steamapps/skyrim/data Do i run more than 1 mod at a time when every single mod has a textures folder and meshes folder and its constantly asking to rename or replace? Theres even mods that have multiple features, that need to be installed sepporately (like the facepack) I install the eyebrows and cant install the makeup to the same place because they both have a file called textures and it wants me to rename or replace o.O really not understanding how to make them work together, im sure theres a way but ive followed every instruction on these mods, and i just keep getting the same problem. Help!!!! :( Edited February 14, 2013 by Malakith2
blove
The question is not would you like to remove the old texture folder and all of its files, but would you like to replace files in the old texture folder with files that are named the same from the new texture folder in addition to adding the files that are not named the same from the new texture folder. korun
Simple, here an exemple:you DL a mod which inside get only a data folder, you'll be prompted for erasing the old one (vanilla one), say yes, then, your old data folder is merge with the new one, which means, it still exist but with more data inside.now you DL another mod with also only a data folder, you'll get prompted the same, say yes and IF the mod you've DL isn't for the same purpose as the first one, it will merge it again, so now in your data folder you have vanilla data (those, which haven't been changed by the mods) + mod no1 data and mod no2 data. almost the same if you DL face's textures for your char, the first mod will modify your data/texture folder, if you DL a other mod with the same purpose, you will be prompted to overwrite the 1st one, then you'll have vanilla data + mod 2 data and no more mod 1. that's why it's more easy to mod your game with Nexus mod manager, or any other mod manager, it will take care of the process for you, instead of DL and drag the file in the right place, you will be prompted as well, just say yes or no ;) last tip, some modders makes patch for there own mods, better texture, for a DLC etc.., when prompted for upgrade say no, then when prompted for overwrite if asked say yes, you will have in your mod list for exemple: EEO by Nuska active, meaning box ticked»»»»main modEEO high-res texture pack active (same)»»»optional patch voilà@@
