saurusmaximus
No, there isn't. If you want multiple followers, you either need a mod or, in Serana's case, just don't finish the Dawnguard quest; there is a point in the quest where she will follow you even if you have another follower already. BTW, there's more than one mod that augments Serana's dialogue: SDA is the latest one, but there's also SDE, Serana Dialog Edit, and the two are reported as compatible or even synergistic with each other. Vilja uses her own follower framework, so you could have the two of them at the same time; in fact Emma has an addon where Vilja comments on having Serana following you around. When I answered the OP, I assumed he was asking about using Serana during the DG questline, as there is a point where she won't follow you if you already have a follower, an OP said he didn't want to use multiple follower mods. Yes there are numerous mods that add to Serana's dialogue, but none that give her her own follower framework, like Vilja or Inigo uses, which is what OP was asking about. VulcanTourist
I asked the question about Vilja and Serana for my own edification and troubleshooting, because I've had both as followers and Vilja began to slowly slide into "insanity" and behaving unpredictably and strangely, not at all like a follower and completely out of character. Reading this and thinking back to when it might have begun, I wondered if it might have been when I added Serana as a follower when I already had Vilja. I never did resolve it and lately removed that saved game in preparation for another. I will likely be more conservative and choose just one follower at a time and perhaps even not use a follower management mod at all, since most of the followers I find interesting have their own independent methods. saurusmaximus
I haven't played with Vilja on SE, the last time I used that mod was several years ago on LE, but my gut tells me what you experienced probably wasn't caused by Serana. Vilja is actually a very complex mod, and I'm guessing there was probably a conflict in your load order somewhere that caused her to act up. But thats just a guess, and it sounds like you are moving on in any case. Just my two cents...
VulcanTourist
You could be right. 460 plugins leaves so much potential for conflicts even when avoiding them was a top goal in their selection. I've barely begun learning how to create custom conflict patches for everything; so many record types are still impossible for me to understand and judge.
