kestrelhawk
Does anyone know if there is a mod that brings Brotherhood soldiers/knights/scribes (whatever) to settlements in a Brotherhood playthrough? I've never done a fully Brotherhood only game yet, and I'd like to see something like the Minutemen have, a Brotherhood presence in settlements. Either during or after the conclusion of the main quest. Thanks for any help or tips. :)
taryl80
Yes you can. I have done a brotherhood/minutemen settlement by the boston airport in my current test-game playthrough. The story behind it is, that it is a community project between the Minutemen and the Brotherhood, to learn to know each other better. What you need is "abduction lite". You can find it here on the nexus if you search at least with the word "abduction". With this mod can you "enslave" every npc in the game (well a copy of it) and port to your position. I have done this with a few BOS, that are now settlers in the named settlement. The only drawback is, that they will be all named "slave". That is a bit of a bummer, if you doing something like me, but well, at least you can make a BOS settlement with it. Btw. to add the necessary moditem into the inventory of a friendly npc, I have just use console commands. For this you need to open your console, click on the npc and then type in: "openactorcontainer 1". Then close the console and just put the item in. FruitOfTheLum
Does anyone know if there is a mod that brings Brotherhood soldiers/knights/scribes (whatever) to settlements in a Brotherhood playthrough? I'm not a modder or even particularly good at anything in general, but from what I understand the settlements have some kind of keyword or value attached to them which dictates which kind of settlers spawn in response to a radio beacon. Most settlements in the Commonwealth are set to spawn generic settlers, while settlements in Far Harbour are set to spawn unique 'Far Harbour edition settlers', for example. If I understand it right, you can't mix-and-match, and you'd have to tag a specific settlement to generate a specific kind of NPC. But I suppose that means there must be a way of altering a particular settlement to spawn Brotherhood of Steel NPCs instead of generic settlers. Is that something that could be done in FO4Edit? Literally the most complicated thing I've done in FO4Edit was to change the MK17's ammo type from .308 to 5.56mm, but... it seems like the sort of thing that would be modifiable in there. Right? Either way, I know there's a mod out there somewhere that causes The Castle's radio beacon to only spawn Minutemen instead of settlers, so there's got to be some way of doing it! You should probably ask someone who knows what they're on about, though! Personally, whenever I do a BoS playthrough and decide that the Brotherhood should have a presence in settlements, what I do is simply collect/buy up as many uniforms and laser rifles as possible (or make them myself with Armorsmith), and then give them to a select few settlers and 'pretend' that they're Brotherhood soldiers... EDIT: Here's the Minutemen one I mentioned, which sounds like it does something along the lines of what I said above: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/43714 Maybe ask the mod author how they did it? I've had a look in FO4Edit, but I don't even know what I'm looking for... Edited October 6, 2020 by FruitOfTheLum
kestrelhawk
Thanks taryl80, but I don't want the Minutemen in this play through at all, and don't want the Brotherhood as settlers. I was looking more for the Brotherhood to show up in settlements as patrols/protectors. I may have to settle for random appearances by them. Bummer. FruitOfTheLum, thanks also. I just want an increased presence of the BoS at settlements in the game, but in truth, I think they would make lousy farmers, lol. I do gear up my regular settlers (in the few settlements my character has chosen to expand) with very good armor and weapons, primarily from the vanilla combat armor and The Mercenary mod. I was hoping for the kind of similar behaviour as in WATM, patrol-wise. Thank you both!
SKKmods
You can set up BOS patrols between settlements with Settlement Attack System. If the player is a member of the BOS faction then workshops can be flagged to generate BOS patrols. Read the description.
