Import Conflict Rules from one PC to Another?

Struggling to transfer my SSE and FO4 games from my existing Win 7 PC to my new Win 10 machine. I am trying to duplicate my installation.

I installed Vortex on the new machine, and copied over my entire SSE and FO4 folders including the files (inis, saves) etc. in Documents/Appdata, as well as the Vortex Downloads and Staging folders. However, I need to find the Vortex/LOOT conflict resolution rules- without those I don't have a hope of a playable game.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but if so I can't find it. Can someone please help me import the rules to my new setup?

Vyxenne - Vortex Purge your game directories before you copy them. Otherwise Windows Copy does bad things to your hard links. (deep copies)

After the move, Vortex Deploy puts everything right again.

If you got C:/Users/{your ID}/AppData/Roaming/Vortex, you should have gotten everything.

Thanks, Fred! I got Appdata\Roaming\Vortex but wasn't sure that was everything since all the folders & files are rather cryptically named.

And it's too late for the purge- I didn't know, so I just copied everything over. How can I fix it? If I have to do it again, which folders do I need to run the Purge on? I don't want to break my game on the old machine, my goal is to have it playable on both... Obviously, I don't know what "Purge" is for or what it does- I've always stayed away from it, kind of like if I found something on my doorstep labeled "BOMB" I wouldn't grab it and shake it and say "Hmm, I wonder what's in thi- :nuke:

EDIT: Never mind, I just logicked it out- "Purge" zaps the hardlinks in Data (and elsewhere) for exactly this reason- so they can be copied without dragging along redundant copies of all the mods (deep copy). The problem is, I used Vortex for SKSE and ENB (Dinput) installations, so I guess I'm going to have to delete and then re-copy my entire game directories to the new machine after running the purge. I just hope I end up with the right versions of my stuff when I re-deploy after copying- I have many cases where I modify a plugin or reslot an item via SSEEdit and/or NifSkope, and I always tell Vortex to "use deployed file" when it notices my meddling... But now I'm wondering if my Purge >> Re-Deploy is going to lose those modifications....

Both Purge and Deploy are non-destructive - and the exact opposites of each other. They are both safe to do at any time.

When you do a Purge, it is on a game basis - not on a folder. So you would bring up Skyrim, say, issue Purge, switch to Fallout 4, issue Purge. You get the idea.

Same after the moves with Deploy.

I don't have a good answer for you on how to recover from a Windows Move. I am afraid I would clean the game directory or reinstall. Then bring up Vortex and Deploy. Sorry...
