SilusCrow
In a nutshell, I seem to be unable to take screenshots with any form of antialising on. I hit the screenshot button, and nothing pops up to indicate that a screenshot has been taken, nor is there a screenshot in the appropriate folder. I was wondering if anyone has any idea why this happens or if ya'll have a solution for it.
Deleted269910User
First you'll need to edit your Oblivion.ini found in C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion by default.(Where the X:s are the user you're currently logged on.) Open up the .ini file and search(ctrl+f) for bAllowScreenShot=0 and change that value to bAllowScreenShot=1, then hit save(ctrl+s). After you've done that, make sure you're using HDR lighting from the game settings.(The screenshot feature doesn't work in bloom.) If you prefer bloom like I do, to avoid the jagged edges around characters, you'll unfortunately have to use a third party software like xfire(Which I use.) to take the screenshots. Anyway, happy screenshot sessions. ~Elraine edit; Almost forgot, the screenshots by default are saved to the directory where you installed oblivion.(X:\xxx\xxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion) If you'll be using a third party software, the location can most likely be changed to where ever you want the shots to go. SilusCrow
Ok, did all that (though it wouldn't let me put on antiailsing and HDR at the same time), but I'm still unable to take a screenshot with the antiailising on (and this is without HDR and Bloom Lightings). Edit: Did some quick checking around the 'net. Apparenly you can't take screenshots with AA on.
Deleted269910User
I think you misunderstood me, or I misunderstood what you're saying now, but lemme try explaining differently; Screenshot feature works:-Anti-aliasing is off-Bloom is off-HDR is turned on-bAllowScreenShot=0 is set to bAllowScreenShot=1 in Oblivion.ini You will not be able to take screenshots normally if all of the criteria above are not met. If you want to take screenshots with anti-aliasing or bloom, you will need to get new software to do that.( Xfire(Clicky!) for example.)
SilusCrow
Ah....ok then. Thought you said it was just Bloom that you couldn't take screenshots with. That be where I went wrong =P
Deleted269910User
Heh, I did say HDR was a requirement, which automatically turns off anti-aliasing, which is why I don't like it since my characters become jagged, was my bad not properly explaining it the first time.:P It still continues to puzzle me though, why Beth couldn't get the screenshot feature to work with AA or Bloom. alex2avs
i suggest you to use fraps ;) you can download it here : http://www.fraps.com/ it's very easy to use and you can make 30 sec videos in the free version as well. and it shoudn't be affected by the Anti-aliasing Bloom or HDR
Seyheb
I don't have any problem with taking screenshots with Bloom turned on.

I'm pretty sure you could mod it to work like that, but you'd have to go into the code or something and tweak it like that.
Seyheb
What video card setup do you have? If you have two of the newer ATI Radeons in a Crossfire configuration you can use AA from within the 3D settings in the latest 'Catalyst Control Center' (download from the ATI site). Oblivion's AA has to be turned off of course. The results are excellent, though it does reduce some Crossfire performance features and might therefore slow down your game. It might work on some older ATI cards but I don't know. As it is independent of Oblivion, you can also use it with either HDR or Bloom and take screenshots. As for Bloom, Oblivion's screenshot feature does work with Bloom turned on. I'm now on my third PC running Oblivion and have had both Nvidia and ATI video cards (not at the same time of course!). I've also had both XP and Vista and am now running Vista 64. I have never at any time had any problem with taking screenshots with Bloom turned on as long as Oblivion's AA was turned off. The only thing that has ever prevented me from taking screenshots has been Oblivion's own AA (bAllowScreenShot=1 must be set in oblivion.ini of course).
