LE You know what Skyrim is missing?

New epic flying enemies/bosses such as griffin would be pretty cool, but I digress the idea of wandering down a road at night looking up and seeing something flying off in the distance, but not quite being able to make out what it was would make the world feel so much more alive.

It’s just for looks, like hawks, except larger and fly higher up maybe weaving through clouds

 

something like a shooting star, you just happen to look up and see something far away flying fast in the sky and think WOW, but at the same time the dovakiin cant explain what he just saw

 

I think the sky is neglected in skyrim, except for hawks and the occasional dragon, there isn’t much going on up there.

Yes it does, Mr. Smartypants. There is already a feathered Dragon mod called Behemoth. All you need to do is alter it to be on fire and you have a phoenix. Altering its size and having its own unique setting like that giant mud crab makes my post relevant, but it also makes your post irrelevant.

I like your idea. a kind of massive behemoth just hanging in the sky. an unreachable thing, just like the clouds or the sun.

 

I think this would fit best in a new land mod. you'd travel to an island (wow! that's never been done before!) where this thing has kind of become part of everyday life. through the course of a quest, you will be able to get on the back of the beast, and, if you choose to be a dick, kill it, which makes it crash to the ground, reshaping the whole island.

Again, that has nothing to do with the OP's request. He wants AESTHETICs, not enemies. A phoenix or such that flies way up high in the sky like the hawks do, nothing more than something to be seen; you cannot fight it because it's too far away.
