Weapon texturing issue in GECK

I need a set of information regarding adding textures to weapons and the models themselves in game.

 

mainly a list of what 'parts' are required, category by category in the GECK

 

So far I have done the following:

 

create needed texture set(s)

create actual item and point it to correct model then assign 'custom textures' in the pick list

repeat above for static item (world object I assume?)

 

I repeat, the model and textures assigned to the item are the same as the ones assigned to the static right now, as that seems to be the way BETHESDA did it with the lincoln rifle, which is my base Im working from at the moment.

 

The issue at had is simply this:

 

When held in the players hands, the weapon looks and functions fine. Textures aligned perfectly, no flashy lights or shifts in texture or anything.

 

Same goes for third person

 

Same goes for 'iron sights' mode/zoom in mode

 

BUT, when the weapon is placed on the ground, the textures go...weird.

 

As you move your view around while the item is on the ground it shifts from black, to whitish tan with reddish tan lines, to showing the texture of the surface UNDERNEATH it (i.e. the road or the ground).
