Need help changing dialogue audio

Hi!

I am new to modding and I am trying to make a mod that changes some of the vanilla dialogue. I have followed this and this guide to access the dialogue I want to change, edited the subtitles and changed the audio file to a new one I recorded with Audacity. I have also generated a new lip file for the audio. The dialogue I'm trying to change is, for now, the opening sequence when Ralof talks to the player in the cart. Everything seems to work in the Creation Kit; the text changes and I can get my new audio file to play.

However, when I start the game and Ralof starts talking, only the subtitles seem to have changed. The audio is still the original vanilla audio.

The game is largely unmodded otherwise (I usually play with a fair number of mods, but I turned as many as I could off for testing purposes. I think only SKSE and ENB Series are still active)

Does anyone have any idea why the audio doesn't change? I can provide more details as requested but I don't know what information would be useful and I don't want to flood this initial post with a bunch of unnecessary stuff.

Thanks to anyone who is willing to help!

SEQ?

If the OP is editing vanilla files in the opening quest, it will already be set to 'Start Game Enabled'. I think we need more info...

OP... fair play to you for doing this. I wonder about how you did Ralof's lines, though.... your own voice acting? If so, I hope you aren't neglecting the fact that Ralof has dialogue elsewhere, if the Dragonborn sides with the Stormcloaks. Gongrats for doing it this way, but it'll seem really weird unless you can mimic him well, if his voice changes later. Maybe you edited/spliced voice files? That would work.

This is a great tutorial for adding or replacing dialogue:

How to add NPC dialogue:
-----------------------
The SEQ file is easy to make and is a quick check to rule out:
Steps to adding an SEQ file
-------------------------------------
If you do not have it alreay, create a Data/Seq/ folder
Open SSEEdit 4.0.3 (process will not work in Creation Kit for SSE) > Open mod you need SEQ for by double clicking > Right Click on mod > Other > Create SEQ file
The file will be created in your Data/Seq folder
Easy Peasy :)
