corsayr
Just like the title says The website obviously knows this because I get that message when I see the thumbnail. I try and track everything I have installed but it can get really hard to do that. Would be nice to just pull up a list of all mods that have that tag. thumbincubation
From the SSE main page, go up to the top center/left corner and click "Mods," then "tracked mods," and it will give you a list of all the mods you're tracking, with the update notice in the corner. Then there's a dropdown box, to sort between alphabetical, last upload*, and others. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out how to do (or if it's even possible) is dismiss a notification, when I have looked at the update and concluded I don't need it. As it stands, it will show the tag, even if the author just adds an optional file that you don't need. Because of that, some of them won't be right at the top of the list, but will still have the tag, unless I want to download them and then delete the download. anjenthedog
I've seen "Update available" before on Nexus for mods I've installed. However, I use Vortex so perhaps it's linked to using Vortex. (in addition, Vortex itself shows an update flag for mods periodically).

Ya it shows it for tracked mods, but I don't track all the mods I have installed. (that would be like 300+ mods my notifications bell would break  ) The site obviously knows it for all the mods I have downloaded because I see it even for items I am not tracking if I should happen to see the mod in a search. corsayr
I believe the history tab shows that Download history doesn't show it, sadly
VulcanTourist
I've seen "Update available" before on Nexus for mods I've installed. However, I use Vortex so perhaps it's linked to using Vortex. (in addition, Vortex itself shows an update flag for mods periodically). It's not dependent on Vortex. That would be rather impossible to implement. Vortex's own update-check mechanism suffers a similarly annoying fate because of the shortcomings of the NexusMods site design: some mods may be perpetually flagged as having an update when they really do not. The site allows mod authors to muck this up by not placing more strict controls on mod and file naming and versioning. It's not one but several conditions that can result in this occurring. RE - Real Estate is one example: with nothing else changed, the formerly numeric versions of all three files were changed to the WORD "Final" this summer. Now, as an apparent consequence, Vortex always declares that it has an update available for all three files. And it's not the only example of this.
