How do I stop Guards Attacking?

Hi,

Well, in the process of killing a dragon I seemed to have pissed off the entire town of Whiterun. The guards will not let me talk to them and gang up on me (about 10 at a time).

 

Questions:

1. Do I wait about a month for them to calm down enough for me to pay a fine or bounty?

2. Will they every calm down?

3. Is there a console command to make them calm down?

 

I did try searching the forums, but my keywords kept getting an overflow of answers and the system told me to wait and try again.

 

Please help, I have a nice home (Sparrow) and want to be able to visit the city. I am Thane and the Dragonborn :confused:

1) You can click on one while the console is open and type paycrimegold.

2) You can go out near Battle-Born farm where there's only one or two and try to surrender.

Go somewhere out of the hold (like Markarth or Riften) wait for a while (forget if its 3 days or a week). When you return, the guards will probably just give you the "hey, I know you" line, unless you managed to get a really high bounty.

There is a console code for removing bounties, but I don't use it so I don't know it. UESP and elder scrolls wikis have lists of console commands.

You could also just go back to a previous save, kill the dragon and avoid the chickens ... :wink:

Hey - thanks all....I think I'll finish finding the horn for the Greybeards and then go to the Battle-Born farm. I hate it when they get in the way during a dragon fight.
