Beowulf616
No long story or 'crap my games started glitching and lagging again'. I just wanna know if you can make an armour non-reflective. Because i downloaded the Shiki armour set and its a cool armour and all. It keeps me alive, looks hot and suits the way i play my chick, but i dont like the fact the armour is reflective. I just want it the colour it is when you equipt it in the inventory. Can someone tell me if the dude who amde it has any plans to fix it or can someone tell me how to fix it. Cheers bru
alex2avs
well..as far as I know the reflective property is affected by the normal map (which reflects the light). It looks like you'll need a new normal map ;)
ihateregisteringeverywhere
That's.... similar but different. No, reflective armors/weaponms/items/whatever have a so called enviromental map applied to them. It's simple the engine creates a fake reflection image and applies that to the given item in-game. To dissable this behaviour on an item you have to run NifScope, find the offensive mesh(NiTriShape - just click on it in the render window), find it's NiMaterialPropperty and rename it from EnvMap2 to Default1. And then also change the "Apply mode" setting of the NiTexturingPropperty from APPLY_HIGHLIGHT to APPLY_MODULATE. Sounds confusing? It's not! If you know what you're doing that is... ihateregisteringeverywhere
Won't probably look so hot anymore. EnvMap does a LOT. 80% gray difuse(with no real texture) + 5-10% gray normal alpha = polished chrome. It's pretty funky.
