chaptmc2
I have been having problems trying to get Fallout 3 to read my mod files. When I goto Data files before playing Fallout 3, all I see is the master file, not my mod. My Operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium. I have downloaded FOMM, have changed the bInvalidateOlderFiles to 1, and have taken a physical copy of the file and put it into the Fallout 3 Folder(Which GECK wont read the mod now due to that either), and all has failed so far. I have tryed getting help from Bethesda on their forums about this, but have been ignored. Does anybody have any idea what is wrong here, or even how to correct it? erbkaiser
Did you place the esp files in the install directory of Fallout 3\Data? You also have a Fallout 3 folder under Documents, your mods do NOT go there. Also if you're on Vista and you installed the game in program files... there may be your issue. Never install a game in Program Files, reinstall it in C:\Games instead.
deliverance6
sillly question, but you do have you're mods in the "fallout3/DATA" directory dont you? and not jsut the fallout3 one?
chaptmc2
Well, oringinally, I did try that (Putting my mod into the data folder) and that didnt work, but I uninstalled and Reinstalled again (I didnt install to Program Files at all in both instances, learned how Vista was the hard way with Command and Conquer: Yuri's Revenge), but now that works. I did have installation issues the first time around though getting GECK to work, which was resolved (The libvorbis issue). Thank you though. It works now. deliverance6
good to hear. y'see, i went out and brought f3 and had install problems on Vista. if they persist then download Skulluptura's Custom F3 install from a torrent site. since you own an original copy of f3 and bethsoft have messed up the files etc for the install this could be an answer for you
chaptmc2
Would these install problems happen to include missing human textures that the editor cant find and when you play the game, all your character has is hair and clothing? To be more precise, when I click a weapon in the editor: The following errors: Failed to find body mod texture'00000007ModBodyMale' for 'Caucasian' (00000019). deliverance6
nope they dont fix it. it does fix broken DVD's however ^^ and its under 4gig lol. however, its y'no.. not legal to torrent games, so i dont recommend it unless you own an origonal f3 disk

WHen I start a new game, I have to skip the second step on the Gene Monitor, screw around with what hair I want, then give my character some facial hair(Which seems to bring up the skin and everything else). Then I can go back to step two and do what I want with my character's face. Now it shows my character in full, but only if I do this.
