mikemeyer30
I have tried numerous times to fix this. I don't know what to do. From the screen going black right after the starting video, to everything going fine until I'm born, or even just complete blackness, only audio, and then crash. No matter what, it crashes. What do I do to fix this crap?

M48A5
You cannot use NMM to automatically install FWE. Please read the mod description page, especially the part that covers installation. Gopher has put out a video that details how to install FWE if you insist on using the NMM for FO3. You will also have to limit your CPU to only 2 cores. The proper commands to use in the Fallout3.ini are available numerous times in the posts here. You should also uninstall and reinstall FO3 to a location outside of the Program Files. Your systems UAC will not allow some mods to properly installed.

You can tell / redirect the install path through steam but you need to really pay close attention to the processes to do that. you can also disable the steam API to not run the game as a steam app, change it's location by COPY and PASTING the whole game directory, deleting the existing one, and resetting the registry key's by hand, re-enable steam API to scan for the new location and it will update your online account for that location and files you use. once done, disable online support for it and go through the files and reassign system proprieties / permissions to all files in the game directory to the logged on user ID on your system. once you have the Full authority assigned, you will have full controls of all files in that game and windows will leave you alone. you also need to tell windows NOT to secure those files in the advanced tab of system preterites along with any other exe files you need to run. Trend? your on your own there, it monitors all files on the system. May in fact be intrusive too. Just don't use the "move" command because you give the system and your antivirus a headache venturing out side of the program files and folders directory, kinda snafu's the system a bit. copy command only.
