Skyrim SE CTD in Second Half of Soul Cairn

In my current playthrough I CTD every time I cross the wall into the second half of the soul cairn.

 

I tried getting past with coc commands and I was able to coc to the Reaper's Lair but if I try to coc to the Boneyard entrance that's an instant CTD.

 

From the Reaper's Lair I can explore enough to find Arvak's skull and Saint Jiub and kill to of the Keepers but can't get near the third without a ctd.

 

I got through the quest by typing targeting Valerica in the console and typing moveto player. and talk to her there well away from the boneyard and then advancing the quest with setstage whenever necessary but as you can imagine things got much worse when it came time to go to the falmer valley.

 

So I went back to an earlier save before I even joined the Dawnguard and tried again but got the same result. I still ctd when ever I cross that wall in the middle. I can explore the first half just fine. I can round up all four of the Jiub's Opus pages that are in the first half and talk to that ghost to get the quest for Arvak but as soon as I cross the wall, ctd.

 

I've searched around on google and it seems a lot of people have had various ctd issues in the soul cairn over the years but they seem to be mostly related either to the Keepers or the lightning neither of which seem to be my issue so I'm at my wits end here.

 

Has anybody else had this issue and found a solution?

 

Or can anybody think of a likely cause based on my description?

I had the same problem. In the end it was a companion mod Morgaine ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/41027?tab=files ). No idea why it causes the crash, but it was that. Hope that helps.

It just might as I do have that mod installed. I'll try disabling her and see if that helps. Thanks for the reply.

 

EDIT: Yup, That did the trick; no more CTDs in the second half of the Soul Cairn. Thanks again.

Holy Crap - thank you so much: this crash was driving me nuts.

Could confirm from my side - yes, it was the case.
Removing Morgaine follower mod solved the issue.
