Are these mods slowing down my system?

Hi guys, i'm a new guy here and I hope you can help me out. So I recently started adding some mods to skyrim through nexus and now I have a pretty long list.

Skyrim used to run just fine without them, or atleast not that many of them in the past, but now I think I may have overstepped? I have 2 main issues.

A) My fps is outside usually around 25(fraps) but when I start running too much it suddenly starts stuttering, so I would be looking at my screen for 5 seconds and nothing happens and then it goes back to 25, rinse and repeat.

B) When I close skyrim I notice my system is very slow and seems to still be doing some processes even though I can't see any in the task manager.

Now the problem is...I don't really know what mods are the most consuming so I can remove those?

First of all these are my systems specs:

Windows Vista

e6850 3ghz

4GB RAM

ATI 6850

What part would be my bottleneck? my cpu I suppose?

I Don't know how to post in spoiler tags so i hope I don't get banned for just posting my BOSS mod list here?

Your loading list looks like a total mess - I'm surprised you're not CTD'ing.

You got for example Crimson Tide AND Enhanced Blood - they pretty much do the same thing. Get only one. Also why do you have all cloak.esp's active? Chose only one there too!

For "heavy" mods - I would point at Open Cities, Skyrim Flora Overhaul and Skymomod. Also - make yourself a favor and remove WARZONE's - it's a broken mod right now that has not been updated for a while and thus isn't fine-tuned towards "Update.esm" creating lots of scripting issues in the background. You could try "Immersive Patrols" instead.

I pretty much suspect you get freezes because your computer starts loading custom textures, or just a large spawnpoint (like WARZONE's or Skymomod). I recall myself how my computer could freeze for like a second as soon as I approached WARZONE-areas.

Last but not least - get TESVEdit and clean all the "ITM's" you have - these shouldn't be there for a stable gaming experience either.

Good luck!

thx guys, ill make work of your comments!

IS skymomod that heavy btw? I thought It just added some new monsters in the mix?

Oh, and I tried to play the game without the hd textures and it runs already smoother right now. So i think that was also slowing it down. Maybe I don't even need it because I heared that the last skyrim DLC added not only new content but also HD stuff?

Skymodmod is "heavy" when you run a GPU with low VRAM and increased spawns - that's definitly when you'll experience a "stutter" approaching their spawnpoints. Then again I don't know how much VRAM you have.

In any case, don't remove it - try instead removing Warzones and see how things work out.

wow a video card that has 4 gb ram? Is that like the latest card available?

That's his RAM, not VRAM :/

You should be using Enhanced Blood Textures instead of Crimson Tide, since it is outdated, get rid of CLARALUX (you are already using Lanterns of Skyrim which is stable - this is not), WARZONES, SkyMoMod and NPCEssential(s) (use No More Redshirts instead, it's just a bat file, executable through a simple console command) and clean your mods, update, and DLCs in the latest TES5Edit.

EDIT: If you happy that is stable, then start to re-introduce WARZONES and/or SkyMoMod, although both together would be VERY risky.

my eyes bleed, so many dirty edits and incompatibilitie warnings... AND outdated mods.

come on man, the information is right there in the load order.

sigh.. just do what BOSS says, there is no magic fix.

edit: 1gb vram not enough? I dont even.. what? Im on a laptop, shared memory and I use a fair bit of intensive mods and I still hold a solid 40 frames a second... 1gb vram is enough for Skyrim. There is nothing wrong with his system specs... its just purely his load order.

get rid of skymomod too, dodgy mod.
