treemoss
Hey everyone, Ive been slowly learning to install mods but I keep getting crashes and weird things happening ingame when I install more then a few mods. The mods I am trying to get to work together properly are:* Deadly reflexes 6* Unnessary Violence 2* OOO* MMM* Unofficial Oblivion Patch* Unique landscapes* Darnified UI* & the Nifse patch to get DR6 and UV2 to work together I've also got OBSE and NIFSE which were placed in their respective folders, and omodmanager to install everything else. The problem right now I am having is a crash when I get into a fight with a set of bandits right after leaving the sewers. The bandits do some barrel rolls and stuff, then the game crashes. When I change settings ingame, like resolution or UV2 key settings, they'll reset to default or as if i never changed them when I relaunch the game. I also don't know if MMM or OOO are working, or if landscapes or the patches work. When I use OMOD to install everything, it gives me all the prompts to install the mods then asks me yes/no questions for files either not being used by an omod or are being used by an omod. Also it adds a ton of mods to the LO list that is making is really confusing what order to set things too. OOO, MMM, Landscapes, and DR6 add multiple mods to the list also. This is the LO list from mod manager... as you can see 6 mods added a lot of stuff. Hickory
You need to install Wrye Bash, and learn how to create a Bashed Patch. Note that every time you install, remove, change, re-order *any* mod, you *must* re-run BOSS and then rebuild your Bashed Patch, in that order -- no exceptions, no excuses. treemoss
So everytime I add a mod, I have to run BOSS and repeat that everytime I add a new mod? Also, do I have to make a bashed patch for each mod prior to installing the mod or before?
Hickory
Yes, every time you add, change, edit, remove a mod, or change load order, you must rebuild your Bashed Patch. You do *not* build a patch for every mod. A Bashed Patch is built for all installed mods, after BOSS has sorted the load order -- read the Wrye Bash instructions. treemoss
Hm, alright I've done that now. Is it supposed to show all my mods when I select rebuild patch or just the ones that are mergeable? Other then that I think this quick guide gave me a good start http://justpaste.it/p4v
Hickory
It will show you all of your mods. The mergable mods are the ones in green. If you read the Wrye Bash readme (again) you will see what each of the colours (and those mods with 'plus' signs next to them) mean. Also, be certain *not* to just check every option given when you build your patch. Again, it is *very important* that you understand what each option does, so read the instructions. There is also a pictorial guide on the Nexus that you can follow.
