OdahKing
I can't wait for the mod, I've been dying...on a side note though if you could make a few shops more like oblivion that'd be nice like instead of a blacksmith you could have multiple blacksmiths all with thier own type of gear. Light armor shop, heavy armor shop, sword shop, mace shop, axe shop, shield shop, you know...like the imperial city? I'd think that would be awesome as well as take up a lot more empty buildings. MyThumb
This hasnt been updated in a while so I figured I might well throw in a fresh idea in case you ever check I like the idea of splitting general stores to specific specialty shops however I am going to have to disagree with the general goods. What is the point of going through all the trouble of having all these speacialty shops when there are two that sell everything. The specialty shops allow for the player to sell their items to people who would actually deal in those items. I just love the idea of passing a staff stall in the market and hearing the dealer yell "Sick of those wizards showing off their fancy magic? Out-spell them with 'Nathaniel's Arsenal of Electrifying Wands'" or something fruity like that. Also most of the houses should be full of civillian/peasant homes that are attached to eachother (like modern townhouses). Each peasant should have a hidden family treasure(like a flawless emerald under a floor board or a full set of nordic armor) occasionally guarded by a dog and the richer folk would have a tightly locked up stash of gold and a couple pieces of jewelry lying around; making each house a unique challenge for theives. As for your "black market". Make it a tankard shop or something completely useless and in a shady street so few people actually notice and have them give a couple misc quests directing you to someones house to steal a radiant treasure like a gold ship model or diamond cup and theyll say some generic re usable lines while giving these quests like "I heard there is jeweled sabre (or whatever the item is) down in the upper district(location based on value of item). One might pay a handsome sum to get their hands on that. Let me mark it on your map"While Im rambling about shady shops, on the same street could be a 'fancy broom' store (or something stupid) that would be open one hour during the day while reopening at night to deal moonsugar and skooma. One last note before I end this discursive post, make sure notable buildings aren't attached to and don't look the same as the civillian homes surrounding them. ryanshowseason2
How about something simpler that won't add months of development time? Just some hooded guy in an alley who sells high end poisons. Maybe a couple of irregular potions as well. Ethereal potion, arrow resistance potion. Nothing too complicated but adds a unique merchant that makes Rochebere worth visiting even after the quest is done.
