Working With Landscape Layers

I'm trying to resolve a "layers" conflict between a landscape mod and a house mod, but I don't know how to find the specific location in xEdit for the layers. I know for rocks, trees, bushes, etc. it is a simple matter of opening the console and clicking on the object to get the RefID, then searching for the RefID in xEdit. I've adjusted the X,Y,Z position of many such objects by creating patches. But clicking on the grass/dirt area in question returns the RefID of the road or surface beneath it that was put out there by Skyrim.esm, not of the grass or dirt itself which has been added by a grass or landscape mod.

Can anyone tell me how to locate the specific layers info? Also, if adjusting the position is different from regular objects, then how is that done? A tutorial would be great if there is one.

Thanks!
