Getting black screen when entering Cistern in Riften

Hey everyone,

 

I am getting a black screen when entering the cistern (Ragged Flagon) in Riften from the Rat Way. I can move around and talk to NPCs, sit on chairs, hear water splashing from walking in the water etc but the screen is black. All I can see is the compass with quest marker arrows.

 

I don't have any mods that affect the Thieves Guild or the cistern area that I am aware.

 

- I had Undergounds mod which I uninstalled (affects Riften dungeons texture), did not fix.

- I had JK cities and uninstalled but I believe this only affects the city itself not the underground, did not fix.

- I disabled ELFX, did not fix.

 

All other mods are trees, armour, quests, npcs. I'm am not sure what may be the issue. Anyone know any other mod that might cause this or what issue it could be? Thanks

- I am not using an ENB, I use Loot and Wryebash

Aside from problems that can be caused by removing mods (especially something like ELFX) during gameplay, I'm assuming the issue is with a .nif file that is bugging and blacking everything out. .nif file can be anything really, but its most likely an NPC with custom armor.

This play through was a new game. I only removed mods during gameplay because I ran into this issue to try and fix it. I didn't remove anything up to that point.

 

I didn't add any mods with a specific NPC with custom armor.

 

Doh... sounds like it could be almost anything then.
