Shezza1895
Dear All: Greetings from Canada! I am Shezza. I'm writing to seek help for a problem I'm having with Skyrim as modded by Vortex. It's simply this: I hear the footsteps my character running but, when I look at my character to see if she is running, she isn't. She's just holding her arms out from her sides and just sliding along the road. Others are just standing around in the same position and not moving. I've uninstalled all my mods, and it's still not working right. Any ideas, brainstorms and/or vague notions will be entertained here. Thank you kindly for your time. I remain, Sincerely yours always, Shezza. P.S. If a screenshot is needed, I'll gladly provide one.
Gorsha
Looks like you need FNIS attached to Vortex and let it run. https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Tool_Setup:_FNIS#:~:text=FNIS%20can%20be%20installed%20into%20Vortex%20like%20any,with%20FNIS%20Creatures%20and%20FNIS%20Spells%20%28if%20required%29. Gorgopis
My first guess at this distance would be a corrupted save. To troubleshoot, load an earlier save and see if the problem is there. If not, then perhaps restart your game progress from that earlier save. A trick you might try is to load the working earlier save and then while within that saved game, load the more recent “broken” save, and see if everything works now. If so, save. Please consider never using the quick save key, nor ever save over an old save. You might try opening the console within the broken save, type pcb and hit return. Close the console. Press F4. Save the game. Open the console, type player.kill, hit return, close console. Let your character die, as Skyrim will reload the save, and sometimes reset the textures and physics, as your character pops back to life at the same stage. Now, save. If you had SKSE and SkyUI, and kept them enabled, you should have received a warning when you disabled your mods to test your save. If you are really invested in the recent saved game where the physics may not be working, may I recommend Skyrim Save Cleaner available at the Nexus, and which still works, and has cleaned some of my recent saves? Very easy to use with Skyrim LE. Next, you might try revalidating your Skyrim files by logging onto STEAM. A quick search in your browser will lead you to an easy tutorial about validating SR game files. Load and Play a save while still on STEAM, and see if your preferred save is playable, and, if so, save. You can find tutorials on how to create a safe uncorrupted save, from which to progress. We can’t know if you’re using an xp32 skeleton/mod or FNIS, where the FNIS advice can then perhaps help you. Redeploying your mods on Vortex may help. Good luck!
