Random CTD in Solstheim

I have been having a random CTD with no visual error message whenever I am wandering around Solstheim in the Dragonborn DLC with patch 1.8 installed, I have been wondering why this is happening since I think my load order is perfectly fine, but I would like to know if anyone here can help diagnose any potential issues.

The same issue occurred for me with the Dragonborn DLC on the island of Solsteim. Except it was worse, crashes every few minutes; the game was unplayable to say the least. Having over 150 mods installed, and of course started troubleshooting by removing all of them. I also removed all the added textures from mods as well. None of this fixed the issue. After some more googling I found some people having successfully fixed their own problems by changing some Skyrim.ini settings back to default levels, specifically the uGridsToLoad setting. When the game first came out I tweaked this file for better LOD and less texture pop-ins. By default some of the following settings aren't in the file meaning you created them manually, if they aren't there the game uses defaults.

Here are the settings that made my game unplayable when in Solsteim:

[General]
sLanguage=ENGLISH
uGridsToLoad=7
uExterior Cell Buffer=102
iPreloadSizeLimit=262144000

After some testing with this, these settings allowed uninterrupted gameplay for me:

[General]
sLanguage=ENGLISH
uGridsToLoad=5
uExterior Cell Buffer=36

Sure, the distant textures don't look as good anymore and there are a few texture pop-ins but I can actually play without crashes now. What good is a better looking game if you can't even play the damn thing anyway? Hopefully this helps.

i have legendary edition, no mods installed, no tweaked skyrim.ini settings, and solstheim crashes every minute and more often even less than a minute. i can't continue playing the main quest, so i don't know what to do to keep on playing, any suggestions?

For some reason, if I try to go to Solstheim, boat/fast travel, it loads for a few seconds and ctd....cant go to solstheim anymore.....stupid game.

Mods for skyrim make solstheim ctd (crash to desktop), I serana traveled with me to solstheim she's cured from vampirism and she had strange yellow eyes, n I have mod that fixes her eyes. I tried to send her home and it fixed the ctd.
