Arsisis
I really like creating new characters and playing them through the game, I rarely reach beyond level seven though before I... I... start using trainers... :( It is just I often grow tired of the repetitive ways to bring up skills (especially spell-casting skills) and go to a trainer. It seems good at the time but ruins the game for me tommorow. So, I'm asking, what class (custom-classes also accepted) keeps you most driven to PLAY through the game and not just strive to level up over and over? It'd also be neat for you to include what is nice for your class ("it's fun to take out entire cities with my uber-mage").And as a really desperate attempt, i'd also like to hear of any mods that really keep you to the actual game. FlightlessBird
I can tell you a really fun Character to play the game through is a Bosmer or Kajiit theif. Security and sneak are very good levels to raise because their very useful. And once ur sneak is at like level 70, you can basically sneak in front of peoples faces. Hand to Hand is an easy skill to bring up fast. very helpful once its a high level. dont go with unarmoured, light armour instead.shortblade... and Acrobatics. My favorite skill in morrowind. The BEST way to travel without spells is by jumping everywhere. So if ur looking for a boredom fighter thats what i'd reccomend.
Eiade
Shortblade is the faster weapon skill to level up, because you have to attack with a shortblade more than other weapons because of low attack ratings. Yes, a khajiit theif would be an excellent choice. The fact that khajiit are better at theivery makes it more fun to be a theif, because you aren't let down as much and you succeed more, which leads you to want to play more. Maybe not a bosmer thief (oh man... is it theif or thief?), cause they have too much skill points dedicated towards marksman, which is one of the most BORING and FRUSTRATING skills out there. Security is one of those skills you can't help but train, because it takes a while to level up, and there are only a limited number of locked doors and chests out there. And, as we all know, acrobatics has got to be the EASIEST to level up w/out trainers. You just jump everywhere and you can go up 10 skill points in a day. haha. Adras
Would that be a real day or a Morrowind day ;) I personally never use trainers, but I suppose thats my fault because I have the Shadow Drow mod on and it costs like several thousand just to train. But I think I'm going to try being a Kajiit theif. I never have before and it sounds fun.
Alexander the Great
Try some character that isnt suited at all for its job. Try like a redguard mage or a bosmer fighter or a nord thief. Try that and its some trouble. but fun though
FlightlessBird
Another Good strategy for keeping things intiresting is mixing classes. Try having a redguard major in Magic, while minoring in Stealth. This, makes things difficult and intiresting at the same time. You could mix waht your good with with somethign your not. You can always mess with the birth signs as well. Mage, born under the warrior... theif under the Apprentice...warrior under the theif. Maybe its just me, but do any of you use the birth signs that Aren't really good, but they're there? Like the serpent. who wants to loose health to do damage? You can do damage without loosing health anyway. The ritual. I never really understood its purpose either. Waste of a sign if you ask me... Eiade
Yes.. As far as birthsigns go... The Steed is awesome for monks, healers, acrobats and the like (+25 speed). Having a char who runs fast takes a lot of boredom out of the game cause it cuts down travel time. Plus I'm always frustrated with a slow-moving character. Slow chars are weak to me. The Lover = light armored archer/theif's dream. +25 agility. The Lady. Ah, The Lady. +25 Endurance and +25 Personality. Rocks my socks off. This is everyone's favorite. Anyone who isn't a nord or imperial, this is your sign. It can take someone who has a weakness in certain aspects, and transform them into well-rounded char's. For all you mages, you probably wanna go towards either the appretice, atronach, or the mage. (duh) All the others suck. in my opinion. serpent = poop. theif = mostly poop. shadow = useful poop. tower = a useful spell which comes with useless poop. lord = obsolete healing spell, complete with flammable poop. warrior = poop that won't matter when you're lvl 30. sorry guys, it's late. my brain stopped my maturity functions. >Argonian thief<
well for the most part id say Eiade is right. When i make a cahr i usally use the lady the 25 points will help a lot with your HP and the personallity points wont hurt you either. I think the lady is one of the best choices
Adras
I always use the Tower because of the Open ability. I once did the Lord and had a heck of a time fighting ANYTHING that had fire spells/weapons. Lord has Trollkin: 100% Weakness to fire. I would suggest to NEVER use that one. Besides those two, i've never used any others, so I couldnt help ye.
