Race Menu / Character Creation problem (Mods installed)

Inside the spoiler tag is random problems I exprience throughout the entire day (literally more then 10+ hrs) but solved (?), my problem now is below the spoiler tag, and I need help with it.

I can give a list of mods if that would be helpful for you guys to be able to help me. And hopefully you guys can because googling my problem hasn't helped me yet. I'm frustrated and just ready to just take the game back and play the xbox one my brother has. I spent all day installed mods with the Nexus Mod Manager v. 0.44.1 that was released recently. I have 100+ mods, but thats not why it took literally all day. My mod manager takes like 3-5 minutes to even load up to that picture that slowly fills in with color and that takes 5 more minutes THEN it takes like 5-10 minutes for it to even start. Now this is with mods and without mods installed.

 

Thats problem No. 1 that has me continuelly sadden, but it's not as bad as having the game crash before it even starts for a few hours til I found the right topics to help me through google. I used BOSS, Then manually reorder a few files according to the Modders' instructions, I finally get the game to start and it crashed in the opening sequence (Carriage beginning). I then install TESV edit thingy and found out two companions had "Fatal" and then one more have critical conflict issuses. Those three have been disable until I feel like try to fix with TESV edit.

 

 

My main issue is I can't create a female. I start with the default nord and it stays that same nord while I look through the custom races. Though I can see male of other original skyrim races it just takes a long time for it to load, say 15-30 seconds. BUT I can't switch to female, it freezes. Successfully I switched to female once but it was still the nord male. I read somewhere to just create the default nord and do the console race menu. That didn't work, it just took longer to freeze.

 

If you need/want mod list I can give that to you guys/girls.

A mod list would be very helpful here. However, I can tell you right off the bat that having a lot of hair meshes installed will cause problems. Even Apachii by itself is enough to make my game CTD. If this is your problem, then I can show you a workaround for it.

Ok heres my mod list, I think apachii might be it, maybe. I started the game recently I can switch to a female of the original skyrim races. Just can't switch to say Lunari or Succubus. It just shows whoever I opened the menu with.

Now randomly some mods will find themselves uninstalled (I didn't touch them) which is weird, the one I'm talking about is that bathing beauties one (BBLapachii hair or the house mod one). Now I've a question... I have mods installed that aren't on that list, does that mean they're not really installed or they just have no plugin?

Some people say they can avoid racemenu CTDs by using the command while their character is standing in the water or in a small interior cell. Apparently removing your character's clothes can also help. If those options don't work, you can try disabling your hair mods and see if that fixes it. If it does, you'll need to either disable some of your hair mods or remove some of the hairs in the Creation Kit.

 

If you're using NMM, I've seen it do weird stuff like that on a few rare occasions, but I was able to just reinstall the mods a couple of times until they worked. And to answer your question, not all mods contain a plugin file. Mods that are purely texture or mesh replacers won't have one.

simple apashii alone it can works, with one more hair pack = ctd i can reproduce it at will

 

now for your more specific problem, you have 3 custom race installed, why do you want a Nord? :)

 

check in your data folder/texture/actor if they have all there own folder, Lunari is BH...author's name and check if the vanilla race are there, looks like an overwrite

 

are you using FNIS or any other anim patcher? if not, Racemenu won't be the only one problem, regarding your LO

@ Journeyman: Okay I'll use the race menu in the water and disable some hairs mods and see if that works.

 

@ korun: Hmm could be an overwrite with the race problem, the custom races and standalone companions are in the same place as the vanillas, only one with their own folder is JessicaAlba shes in actors folder, the others are in the character one (vanilla spot). And I am using FNIS since a mod I have requires it, and some other animations that are required except I think 4, I have 6 animations.

don't blame anyone :D, you're the only one guilty, i was, i've scraped my very first char with mods , he was hl :((

 

then for sure Lunari get a folder named Bahktisean, for the other i don't know, try to check your file with Steam if something is missing.

Running either one of these mods NOT both will fix the problem as long as you've installed SKSE and run skyrim with the SKSE launcher

and if you're playing on a PC without SkyUI then you'd better pick that one up it's an essencial mod ;) and requires SKSE
