Chev70
Hi; I'm contacting you to try to resolve a small problem.I would just like to increase and improve my depth of field because currently I have a disappointing result while my machine has the capacity to have something other than this s*** (see screenshot) All my graphics options are ultra and my depth of field is maximum. My PC : intel core i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80 GHz 2.80 GHz ; 16 GO Ram with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB Vram What should I do to improve this real disaster? Or is it my Skyrim Flora Overhaul.ini which is very badly configured? I don't know It would be nice to help me sort this out; Thanx NB ; i use an ENB Edited December 11, 2020 by Chev70
nt5raham
I don't believe this is a depth of field issue. Depth of field generally deals with objects close up (really close, like in your face), yet blurring the background the way your eyes work in real life. IOW, if you are looking out of the bars of a cell, either the bars will be clear and the background blurry, or vice versa. In real life, everything is not clear because our eyes have a limited range of focus. It is by design to help keep us from bumping into things, part of our three-dimensional vision system. So depth of field in Skyrim is trying to add realism by changing from blurry to clear on very close objects. The adjustments done with Depth of field do not affect the distant objects and line of delineation in your screenshot. I would suggest backing your depth of field setting down to a middle of the road setting, and experimenting around windows, looking through tree branches, etc. to get a feel for what it does. I think what you are looking for is basically xLODGen and DynDOLOD (Dynamic Distant Object LOD). xLODGen focuses on terrain features while DynDOLOD focuses on buildings, trees, etc. Both work together to create a beautiful distant view. Here are a few videos to have a look at. How to Use DynDOLOD SE || Basics || MO2 & Vortex || Tutorial Tuesday - YouTube xLODGen by Sheson for Mod Organizer - part 1/2 - INSTALLATION - YouTube xLODGen by Sheson for Mod Organizer - part 2/2 - USAGE - YouTube Incidentally, I'm using a setup similar to yours, i7-7700K @4.8GHz, just upgraded from 16GB to 64GB RAM, from GTX 1060 6GB to RTX-2070Super 8GB. When you start doing visual things like this along with your ENB, the extra horsepower makes a difference.
