Does anyone know StrangerNPC? I had left a message and I know that this user visited after I left the message but it seems he didn't read it. I'm not sure you fully appreciate how permissions and ownership of assets work. The original modder has complete control over his/her assets. He has every right to ignore your request (not that I know anything about your particular situation). You may never hear back (this is not uncommon when asking for permission to use assets. I've had it happen to me even with multiple requests to active modders). Or, you might hear back and the answer is, "No." You aren't guaranteed to be able to use the assets even if you do hear back. Or, it might take awhile for you to get a response back. Modders do have personal lives in RL that keep them busy. It isn't all modding all the time for us. There could be many reasons why you didn't get a response yet, and the modder who created the assets has the control. I don't think coming into a public forum to try and force a response was a good tactical move. So, let me give you some advice based on what I've experienced (being ignored and/or told no by modders when I've asked for permission to use assets). I never rely on something that requires permissions that have to be secured from the modder until I have them in my PM box. So, specifically with armors, I don't build something out of a borrowed armor assuming that is the only way I can build it. I always have a backup plan (another armor that will do the job). That way, if I cannot get the permissions for Plan A it doesn't stop my forward progress. I can move forward with Plan B. llama
mechatech
I do have an understanding of how permissions work and I'm fully aware of the fact that permissions are required and that modders have RL. You give a very good and detailed answer, but I'm left with the impression that you're talking down to me as if I'm stupid, I don't appreciate that. I wasn't my intention to force the issue. The first modder is from Japan and I thought the language barrier might have been an issue. The PM sat in his inbox for about a month and he visited once about halfway through that time. However, sometimes no answer is an answer of no. So I'll take it at that. Subject dropped. Edited March 11, 2013 by mechatech

Your post does sound inexperienced, though, and I didn't want you to think this was an unusual situation. I've been ignored a lot by modders when asking for permission. It happens and it's frustrating, but there isn't really anything we can do about it. llama

In hindsight I should have given more backstory. Then I see you wrote Willow, one of the more complex, popular, top drawer mods on the nexus. My hat is off to you. Oh forget that, take my hat please. :teehee: Edited March 11, 2013 by mechatech
