Overwriting files with nmm

Hi, was wondering about how this program uninstalls mods. For example, I install a texture pack and then install another texture pack that needs to overwrite a few files that were from the original texture mod. If I uninstall the second mod, will the files that were overwritten be restored? Or will it somehow revert back to being a vanilla skyrim texture? I saw a comment on a mod page that said that they would have reinstall the original mod, but I am trying to get clarification on this.

You'll get more information concerning NMM's features from their respective forums. However, I can tell you that one of the benefits of NMM is that it manages your various texture files to that they're not to much "overwriting" one another but prioritizing the ones you want. For instance, say you install a texture mod over the original vanilla textures, that doesn't mean the vanilla textures are gone, they're simply removed until the texture mod is removed. Further, if you overwrite certain textures from that mod with specialized texture mods, those textures will be removed.

However, I can't confirm this as expert knowledge. I recommend forwarding any other questions you have to the NMM section of the forums.
