CTDs when exiting "sneak mode" (weird)

Good evening everybody!

 

This is something that I just noticed:

 

I just started a new playthrough with the same load-order and the same mods as I usually have.

I was inside the "Roxbury Subway station" interior cell and I just hit the CTRL key (toggle sneak mode) and the game crashed.

 

I thought nothing of it, maybe just a random CTD, you know, it happens ...

 

So I loaded FO4 with that save again and kept playing.

I exited "sneak mode" again and the game CTD'ed again.

 

I though "This is weird".

After some more repetitions I realized that everytime I exited sneak mode the game crahses.

I have no mods that alter the sneaking "mechanic" of the game, no "big gameplay overhauls" like FROST, just some weapon mods and some settlement mods.

 

I don't expect a solution or help with this, I just thought I'd share this weird experience with the world ....

It probably isn't a problem if it just happens in that interior cell, because I usually sneak all the time anyway ...

 

I have played for about an hour with that character before and had no such problems ...

(Cleared out the roxbury mall ...)

 

This is one of the weirdest "CTD behaviors" that I have ever encountered.

I mean, are you sure you don't have any mods that touch the sneak records?

One of those gun mods might do bonus damage while sneaking - and that could be attached to this.

Or maybe you have a mod that adds a new enemy in the game which has sneak perks.

IS it just happening in that one cell, or is it anywhere in the game?

You could try just validating your game files through Steam, see if that fixes things.

You could also try installing Buffout4 and post the crash log. It also might fix the problem entirely on it's own - as its goal is to prevent CTDs.
