Daoyinyang
I just got my PC and I have been a fan of New Vegas since its launch on the 7th generation consoles.I had questions about modding. Do I need to download a mod organizer? what are some tips for new mod users? I'd love to hear from you guys! Thanks!
M48A5
You should download and install a mod manager. If you want to save your self frustration, read the comments here: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/4306-vortex-support/ For adding mods to the game for a new user, I would recommend using Fallout Mod Manager. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54991 Yes, it's old, but so is the game. This mod manager is the only one made to use with the Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas games and no others. You will also need something to extract the contents of the downloaded files. Use this: https://www.7-zip.org/ Use the latest one for your system. When you start to add mods to the game, don't be in a rush. It is really smart to play the game first so that you get an idea of what you want to add. Add mods one at a time, testing in the game to make sure they are working properly. Make sure you read the posts on the mod page to become aware of any issues there is with the mod. This is good guide to modding: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2247404-fallout-new-vegas-beginners-guide-to-modding/ Also, the Fallout Wiki: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/How_to_ask_for_help Good Luck and Enjoy!
