stockwiz
I admit, I don't even walk from riverwood to whiterun. I have also been known to use the console to give myself things like ebony ingots and then deduct money from my stash... as an adult with a full time job, it just saves minutes of time.. I accomplish the same thing, I just accomplish it faster in real life minutes. If I couldn't even fast travel or rest, the option to get the items I need would become so tedious I would stop playing. IsharaMeradin
I was just reminded again today why I end up fast traveling. After going over the same stretch of road three times and realizing that if this rate keeps up all I would have to look forward to is the well known encounter zones. No wildlife would respawn ever if I keep entering those same cells over and over. Throw in some fast traveling to keep me away from those cells for 10 to 30 game days and the wildlife would be back. Might as well be honest, I'm too lazy to do micromanagement of my character's life. Yeah, the lower end laptop is a good excuse, but ultimately I'm just too lazy and want to get to the heart of the matter rather than spend 20 to 30 minutes crossing the map. The carriages do get some use, but usually not till I've built one or more HF house cause I like how those carriages will go to all the smaller settlements as well. Don't see why they couldn't have added that dialog to the orriginal carriages.
RatcatcherOfKvatch
Umm, I guess I have to admit to saving and exiting after selling. Knowing about instant restock corrupts you ... once you know about it you'll think to yourself what a waste it would be if you didn't sell first then save. Then you start thinking, "Well I do need some coffee. Why not take a break here?" "Oh, look, all the merchants are buying again. What a fortunate and, umm, completely unexpected turn of events!" Windhelm has probably hosted more savegames than Helgen ...
Tiera
I don't want to get stressed about travelling in Skyrim. I have used fast travel quite a lot (I have even fast travelled from Dragons Reach to Whiterun gate when I was going to visit the blacksmith!), but after I found a way to make the game look better and keep the same FPS I have noticed myself walking a lot more often. I also have adopted a playing style where I try to stay in one area (usually in one hold) for a bit longer. If I get send on a Companion quest into Haafingar I go there and do the job but then stay to pick up odd jobs in Solitude and discover locations on my way back. In this way I don't let the poor kidnapped Haafingar citizen to rot in the dungeon for weeks, but when the job is done why should i hurry back? The pay is not that good or anything. So now I see myself using fast travel only occationally when I need to get quickly from place to another. And I love my horse. And I go absolutely mad everytime my horse gets killed by some cowardly archer bandits! Does anyone know if there's a mod that would make your horse actually avoid battle instead of charging in like a ferocious beast?

Convenient horses is the best horse mod I've used since it got an MCM menu. Before that I used several smaller mods to handle it.
IsharaMeradin
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13036 -- Oblivious Horses. Works out of the box. No need to mess with menus or other clunky interfaces. Sweet and Simple the way I like mods. I've only used it once tho as I needed to weed out mods due to having found my game system overload limit. Takes a good while to get it but Arvok is by far my favorite unmodded DLC horse. No need to worry about him cause if he dies you can just resummon him. When you dismount he goes back to the Soul Cairn. Nothing to worry about with that horse o.ob
able72
Fast Travel? Nope. Hardcore Frostfall with Fast Travel disabled. I will use carriages on the rare occasion though. But that was before I bought my horse. Now that I have a horse, with the Convenient Horses mod (so he acts as a container) I don't think I'll even be using the carriages. LIke the added dimension of riding across Skyrim. It makes the whole world feel so much bigger and your adventures more epic when you have to ride for a long time to get there rather than "here's 25 gold" and you get teleported there. Lachdonin
I've been playing since Daggerfall. Fast Traveling has become so ingrained in me it's second nature. I remember being aghast in Morrowind to discover you could only travel between set towns. You still need to actually walk places to discover them in the first place, but Fast Travel keeps you from having to pass the same damned tree 300 times. yoSRP
I would like to see a mod that alows you to fast travel but you run a very high chance of beeing interrupted by certain really difficult events on your way. For example: your carriage is beeing raided by a big bunch of Bandits (hard Bandits) and you have to defeat them to continue the travela powerfull Dragon crosses your way and you have to defend the carriage, its driver and yourself + follower whilst none of them is allowed to die (or something like that)a big pack of wolves attacks the carriagewith Frostfall: a haeavy thunder storm occurs, where you die withing 5 minutes without shelter... there are many possibilities Such events would make fast traveling way more immersive and you would think twice before you hop onto a carriage. But I have never seen such a mod. Have you?
