Vortex not going past splash screen

Hello all,

 

Up until recently Vortex was working fine. The only thing I did recently is download RDR 2 on steam. Ever since then vortex won't go past the splash. I will attach my log to this post.

 

Any help is appreciated

The log narrows it down. What Vortex does next, before logging another message, is read its "application state", that is: all the settings, list of known mods, profiles and such.

Apparently that never finishes, which probably indicates either a permission problem (as in: the database driver can't access the data) or file corruption, although corruption in my experience would trigger an error message.

 

The database is located at "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\State.v2".

You should check the file permissions on these files (right-click->properties->security) to verify your user account has read and write access to all of them.

 

You can also temporarily rename that directory to something else and see if Vortex can then start up but afterwards you'll want to immediately close Vortex again and move the directory back so you don't lose data, unless you want to start over.
