Megachipman
So this mod idea has been stuck in my head for ages but beyond my ability to create. The idea is once you finish the tutorial and get the amulet of kings, you can finish the main quest as normal, no changes there, but completely unmarked in any quest journal or anything is you have the ability to just put the amulet of kings in yourself, and manually go light the dragonfires. Ideally this happens with absolute 0 fanfare, the fires are lit, any open oblivion gates close, no final cutscene, at most a quest journal update ending the main questline, and then you can go and pawn off the amulet or something. Pellape
...or maybe become the new Emperor instead or Martin?? I mean you become leader of all bloody guilds, so why not the whole Cyrodiil? Not that it matter or make any differences... What you are asking requires a lot of work I guess. My first thought is: Why don't you just ignore the main quest and the Oblivion gates instead of banning them from the game? The result would be the same as it is up to you of course to do what you want in game and even if there is an active quest for it, no one forces you to do it. I do think we also should edit the fighters and mages quests, so we become the leaders as fast as possible, by allowing us to do those end quests immediately after we get out of the sewers... :D I have completed Oblivion in 2 hours. YES!!!! hmm, so what should I do now? Edited December 17, 2020 by Pellape
Megachipman
You misunderstand what I'm going for here. I just think it's very funny how much of the main quest is preventable but isn't just due to the sheer bumbling of the cast. You would light the dragonfires and beat the game in 20 minutes but Joffrey leaves the amulet of kings locked in a sock drawer completely unguarded in a tiny little priory house to be stolen. Once you get to the mythic dawn hideout, you just let mankar cameron run away for seemingly no reason, prolonging the game even longer. and THEN by the time you get both Martin and the Amulet together, Chancellor Ocato and Joffrey both waste a bunch of time with useless ceremony that lets Dagon invade. I just think it would be very funny to beat the game really fast and skip a lot of the bumbling by doing it yourself, with as little fanfare as "taking an amulet to a building and lighting a fire" would involve. Pellape
That's so true. I really got surprised over how sloppy Joffrey handled the amulet myself, the most important artifact in game... ;)
