humanbean234
Wow, this topic still going? Amazing; my presentation was weeks ago.Futurology, or Prognostication, or whatever you wanna' call it, is a fun topic... what can you say? RE: Wireless Electricity... nice to see Tesla's ideas finally getting some possible implementation, but I wonder about the impact on life-forms... I seem to remember reading somewhere about a study that was trying to prove correlation between living in/near continuous electromagnetic fields (such as are produced by high-voltage transmission lines) and increased rates of leukemia... Thor.
wow i heard of wireless electricity awhile back to, man that would save alot of money and space.
LHammonds
@ Marcus Wolfe, yes...it is an interesting topic...even if it passed usefulness to your paper long ago. ;) @ humanbean234, I would not think it would be wise to make electricity in its current form wireless but one where the wave pattern does not kill a human. I really wished the world would have adopted a different cycle when it was found that it could be made where it would never kill a human but alas, it was deemed too expensive back then because of all the electronics of the day would have been rendered useless if the change was made. Thor.
The version of wireless electricity that i saw was the use of canola oil as a conductor of some sort, i saw this on the discovery channel to, funny enough.
Vagrant0
Here is one sure to change the world: Wireless ElectricityGreat, now that we've solved the issue of powering nanomachines there is little to prevent them from turning the world into a lump of grey goo beyond just good engineering. So yeah, we're kinda screwed on that front. But hey, there's your solution to leukemia and cancer... Just have millions of tiny robots swimming around in your body to cure all diseases caused by providing the energy for those machines to work... It's almost Zen like. Thor.
Hey guess what there has been a brake through in matter transportation, take a look. http://tech.msn.com/news/articlecnet.aspx?...0>1=40000 I think its duplication more then transportation, i could be wrong though. Every time you teleport, one of you will have to die so that only one of you exists at any one time. Fortunately, I think the Twilight zone, or something similar already addressed this. SciFi, solving tomorrows problems today, in theory.
evilkoal
Personally, I wish they'd hurry up with matter transportation so I can go home to England a lot easier. smile.gif Yes, where are they up to on that? I saw a story on it five years ago and haven't heard zip since... it has been done, that is why you have not heard much about it ;) i think it will never be accomplished the way they are trying to do it. i think it might have something to do with super high intensity magnetic fields, frequencies, and some sort of medium...
