deathssyn
Ok so I recently uninstalled and reinstalled skyrim. I've gotten it to work properly with almost no ctd's before on this computer, be it with some crap frame rates but it still worked and rendered and what not. Now it CTD's every time I start a new game or a vanilla saved game on the loading screen. When it crashes changes based on how much I have running in the background so I think it finishes loading then immediately crashes. I have no papyrus report because it won't make one even though I've enable it. The logs folder is empty after trying to run skyrim numerous times. What I have tried is anything recommended by BBen's guide, anything recommended by a vigorous google search, and anything I could possible come up with my own troubleshooting skills.I Have:Tried the sound fix.Clean installed.Reclean installedRereclean installedcleaned registriesupdated skyrimupdated directx11updated vcredistupdated video driversdeleting all files including the skyrim folder in document and in appdata\local and then reinstallingDoing the duplicate . esm fix on the files in the appdata\local folderand about a hundred other things that I can't really remember over the past two weeks. I'm at my wits end and I need some help. Btw this is all VANILLA skyrim. I had it modded before I unistalled it about 2 months ago, but when I havent installed any mods since I have tried to get it to play since then. Here are my system specs:OS: Windows 7Model: Presario CQ56 Notebook PCCPU: Intel Celeron 900 @ 2.20ghzGPU: Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family RAM: 2gb
Georgiegril
Have you checked to see how much available RAM you have before loading skyrim? I understand you have run the game in the past, but 2 GB is not much, and my Skyrim takes at least about 1.2 GB (and often more than you have in total). Any background apps or processes might be enough to prevent your game from working. (the exception of this is of course, you need to be connected to Steam in at least offline mode--perhaps related, I've noticed Steam now takes about 4,000 KB more than it used to. Maybe that was enough to push your game over the cliff?) Also, are you running the game at the lowest possible settings, with no changes to your .ini files? If you haven't already, I would clean up your computer files, and defragment, too, then try the game without any of the high res textures, lowest possible settings and no DLC or mods. deathssyn
Actually I've never used high res texture, just a low res texture mod lol. Ive cleaned up my computer files and defragmented with both cccleaner and the control panel application. Regardless of how much or how little is running in the background it crashes, i beleieve at the very moment it finishes the loading screen. If i have alot in the background it takes about a min if I have nothin git takes about 12 seconds before it crashes.I have a non steam copy of the game so i know steam isnt the issue. Ive tried what you asked anyway and there was no noticable change in the way skyrim ran or crashed. Also still no papyrus report.
