Major Problem

So I have Fallout 3 (retail) and installed outside of Program files, I have used FOMM to install mods, everything is in order, I have transferred all the files from FOSE into fallout 3>data, however when I open the FOSE launcher to play the game I get a message telling me I have the original retail version and need to patch it, but I have installed the latest patch (1.7) and updated the game yet I still get this message. Any help guys?

Please read the ReadMe that you downloaded in the .7z file. FOSE does not get installed to the Fallout 3\Data file. It is to be installed in Fallout 3, the same location as Fallout3.exe.

Uninstall the one you have in the Data file and reinstall to the Fallout 3 file.

JamesIva - Hello!

"I have transferred all the files from FOSE into fallout 3>data,"

As M48A5 says, if you've placed all of the FOSE files into your Fallout 3 data folder, that'll be your problem.

The fose_loader.exe & the .dll's all go in your:

Fallout 3

That's the folder that your Fallout3.exe & Data folder are in, not inside the Data folder.

Make sure you have the latest FOSE version:

Check your Fallout 3 is up to date by running the game & going to the Settings - Display & looking at the bottom left corner.

Latest version should be 1.7.0.3.

If you have the GOTY version, it does not need patching.

If you don't have the GOTY & you don't see that number get the latest Fallout 3 patch.

Hope this helps!
